Flair won the US title from Bobo Brazil on July 29th 1977 in Richmond, Virginia. He lost the title to Ricky Steamboat on October 21st 1977 in Charleston, South Carolina. He won the title for a 2nd time from Mr. Wrestling on April 9th 1978 in Charlotte, North Carolina. He lost the title to Steamboat on December 30th 1978 in Greensboro, North Carolina. He won the title back from Steamboat in Greensboro on April 1st 1979. He vacated the title on August 12th 1979 because he won the Tag Titles with Blackjack Mulligan 4 days prior. He won his 4th title from Jimmy Snuka on April 19th 1980 in Greensboro. He lost the title to Roddy Piper on January 21st 1981 in Raleigh, North Carolina. He won his 5th title from Konnan on July 7th 1996 at Bash at The Beach. He vacated the title due to a shoulder injury in September 1996.

Cena won the US title from The Big Show on March 14th 2004 at Wrestlemania XX. He was stripped of the title on the July 8th 2004 Smackdown after attacking General Manager Kurt Angle. He won his 2nd title from Booker T in the final of a Best of Five Series on October 3rd 2004 at No Mercy. He lost the title to Carlito on the October 7th 2004 Smackdown. He won the title back from Carlito on the November 18th 2004 Smackdown. He lost the title to Orlando Jordan on the March 3rd 2005 Smackdown.

Tough choice as both used the US title reigns as a lauching pad to become the biggest stars of their generation. I went with Flair.
