The preeminent tournament in professional wrestling, the Battle of Los Angeles, returns to Reseda, CA on August 20, 2011. The 2011 Battle of Los Angeles features eight of the top competitors from around the world facing off in a single night, single elimination tournament. The winner receives not only the adulation of the fans and the glory of prevailing over seven of the best professional wrestlers in the world today, but also the opportunity to request any match of the Pro Wrestling Guerrilla Board of Directors over the next calendar year.
Past winners, including "Photogenic" Chris Bosh and Joey Ryan, have parlayed their tournament victories into a shot at the Pro Wrestling Guerrilla World Championship title. Others, like 2006 Battle of Los Angeles winner Davey Richards, have requested Pro Wrestling Guerrilla World Tag Team Championship title matches. The possibilities are only limited by the imagination of the tournament winner.
Tickets for this premiere event are now on sale, and fans interested in attending this event are encouraged to act quickly. Where else can you see Pro Wrestling Guerrilla World Champion "Mr. Wrestling" Kevin Steen take on Dave "Fit" Finlay, former World Champions El Generico and Claudio Castagnoli face off, fast-rising star Willie Mack look to upset the awesome Chris Hero, or two of the hardest hitters in professional wrestling, Eddie Edwards and Roderick Strong, go one-on-one, in only the first of three rounds of matches? Only in Pro Wrestling Guerrilla, and only at the 2011 Battle of Los Angeles.
Excellent line-up. So many big names from the independent wrestling scene in the one show and I like that Finlay is part of this. He had a great match for Evolve the other week so I expect another great match here. I think that KOW will put over their opponents in the first round and this will be their send off from PWG. Not sure who will win this though.
