You know alot of people don't want Punk to win because they say "His last run was crap" which is true, however just because they booked him poorly his first World title run are we never supposed to give him another chance? thats bullshit... I mean I can understand if you think the guy is boring or stale but to use the only excuse that "his first title run sucked" makes no sense I can think of plenty of guys over the years of wrestling who had horrible runs in their careers yet it doesn't mean they don't deserve a second chance.

Personally I don't see him challenging Cena or Triple H, there's no way that the WWE would make either of those wrestlers lose to CM Punk in my opinion. So it's going to be awhile till we see him use the briefcase in my opinion.

I also hope this time around it will be a one on one match, and he won't take advantage of a beaten wrestler.

^ I'm pretty sure thats the point of winning MITB so that at any point and time you can challenge for the title, to pick the time that is at the most advantage to you.

Well...even if they weren't booing him out of dislike (it was definately more of a same ol' shit boo) it would still be a nice springboard for him to start acting like an asshole.

^^^Well, as true as that is, remember Kennedy pre-injury? He gave the champions months warning, saying he was going to cash it in at WM24. Lol.

I dont like Punk, never have, and doubt I ever will. I didnt like him winning last night, for a few reasons. The main reason is - Punk's been there, done that. Give MiTB to another guy (and MVP, Shelton and Christian were solid contenders) who has yet managed to break into the ME scene. Are WWE creative so lost for ideas that they can't think of a way for Punk to get into the ME scene, without that brief case? Says something on their ability, and their faith in Punk. Secondly, Punk's reign last year sucked ass, and I dare say things will not go well this year. You may find some crowds just won't like him winning it a second year in a row.

Here's to hoping he loses the briefcase like Kennedy did two years ago, or he loses the title match he cashes in. Also, whoever said 'Punk won it again this year because Jeff Hardy was sposed to win it at WM24, and Punk at WM25 so he won both instead' is an idiot. They had an ENTIRE year to prepare for a new winner, that's no excuse.

LOL...after the horrible finish to the PPV I was hoping Punk would run out and cash it in against a seething mad HHH and get fuckin ripped in half.

Unless orton wins the title tonight and punk cashes it in gets punted and loses his shot and its back to mid card for him? Thats what wwe are like. Id rather see Cm punk lose and get a big heel push to the top.

I pray that he loses the breifcase to someone worth while or, a major kick in the nuts, Punk loses his title match he cashes in on.

I agree with you guys though, he won't wait. Judgment Day is in CHICAGO. I will be there and most likely Punk will look for the big pop winning big in his hometown.

I have a feeling Punk is getting John Cena syndrome where everyone just starts hating him. I started hating him halfway through his World title reign last year. I am super pissed he won MITB a second year in a row when MVP or Christian could have easily won it. Punk is a total dick and now he is going to go by "the only man to win two MITB matches."

The man can't win a World title without a MITB breifcase...wait...isn't that Edge?

Orton is on the Backlash poster...so I would imagine it would be then he'll be picking up the title.

I'm worried that people are going to sour on Punk because of the speed of his success. I also think that WWE tied their hand with the people that they put in the MITB Ladder match, they simply couldn't put it on anyone else, if you think about it Christian is the closest competition to win it but he JUST arrived, he doesn't have the reaction that a person in the main event should have, maybe next year, but for now put the ECW title on him and see where he goes.

All in all Punk shouldnt be blamed for his quick success he's just the only guy who can carry that briefcase with any real fire behind it.

^I think last night proved that wrong. People WANTED Christian to win. There is no saying that once winning the briefcase he'd have to cash it in immediately. Look at what they did with Edge, they've got nearly a year to build him up to that status.

^^^^Just cause 72,000 people wanted him to win dont mean millions of other people wanted him to win.

Yawn. CM Punk. Yawn. Winning MITB. Yawn.

Boring.

I love how people go on and on about ROH Punk. GET OVER IT. He's not going to be that uber straight edge better then you character he was. You can hope and wish all you want, you can say OH BUT LOOK AT HIS ROH WORK HE CAN CUT GEWD PROMOZ~!, but this is WWE. He sucks in WWE. His moveset is boring, his character is boring. The only time i was mildly interested in him was when he hinted turning heel, but besides that, he has flat out bored me.

His last run with the title was shit, because the WWE has no idea what to do with him. Or because WWE doesn't really care enough, as this guy could beat Triple H and Cena in a handicap one week, and loses to Charlie Haas the next and still lap it up. His last run was also shit because he can't be a reputable guy holding the title. I look at Punk and really end up seeing a generic wrestling gimmick. They make a biggish deal about him being sxc but they don't do anything with it.

No matter what happens, same time next year, CM Punk will AGAIN be down in the midcard, teamed with some random wrestler, having a random tag title run, and being entered into another MITB match. But hopefully next year, WWE will have enough sense to try a fresh face as a possible champion, unlike a tried and failed experiment like Punk.

After last night it looks as though they're gonna put him in an angle with Kane. Kind of makes sense seeing as they were the last two on the ladder, but lets face it we all know that Kane won't be going over. I think it would be much better to put him in an angle with Christian, or with MVP in a US title vs MITB briefcase match.

To be fair, I don't believe they were booing Punk because they don't like him, they just really wanted Christian to win. He was one of the most over guys at WM last night.

Funny one that.... It seems to me that the cheers and boos (he received both at points) were simply from different sections of the crowd.

When he and Kane were up the ladder right near the end, you could hear cheers as Kane got the upper hand and then there were both audible boos AND cheers when Punk eventually knocked him back down a rung or two to gain control of the situ... He still got a pretty damn good pop when he got the win too.

The biggset shitter about Punk's win is the fact we didn't get to see him cash in on a newly crowned Orton, finally gaining retirbution for Unforgiven 08 and kicking off a full blown fued between the pair of them.

As for what to do with him?

Yeah, a fued with Kane seems pretty likely and depending on the brand there's plenty of decent mid-card talent for him to fued with until he 'cashes in' (MVP, Kennedy, Christian, Umaga, Shelton, Jeff H, Kofi), but as our thoughts turn towards his title shot:

Face: Obviously none are holding titles right now, but Edge, Jericho & Orton all immediately spring to mind in terms of potentially good title shots/fueds... In fact irrespective of titles, these 3 would prob top my list of prospective punk fueds.

Heel: HHH.... Well after WM it's quite apparent this wouldn't do any good for Punk. An unsuccesful shot at Cena would be cool for character/stroryline development.
