CM Punk continues to work banged up and is reportedly dealing with a back issue and an issue with rib cartilage. Monday's RAW was written around Punk not taking any punishment so he could have sort of a night off. Punk did wrestle at last night's SmackDown tapings.

Punk needs time off bad. He's been working injured for over a year now.

That's what going against Lesnar and Ryback does to you.

And yet he's rumored to win the Rumble and then the WWE Title (sorry, the Unified Championship) at Wrestlemania?

I'd give him a much lesser schedule in the months leading up to Mania at least. Don't want him getting in worse shape or actually being put on the shelf before the biggest show of the year.

Loads of guys work hurt, it's not a good thing but it's the nature of the beast. Punk isn't any different to countless other.
yea! fuck Punk!

I'm not counting DZ's responses because I know he's just a closet Punk fan, but....damn! Some of you guys are harsh.

Yes, if you go into pro wrestling, you know what you're getting into and guys work hurt all the time. And let's not forget there's a difference between being hurt and being injured. And you should just rub some dirt on it and get back in there, kid. And that ain't pain, bitch! You want to see pain?!?!?!?!?

Sorry, got carried away there for a second.

Back to the point: if Punk is, as has been rumored, the supposed Royal Rumble winner and uncrowned WWE/Unified/whatever Champion-in-waiting, then his lack of ability to work might come into play. Therefore, it might be a little more important that he's hurt or injured or working hurt than just, "Well, that's the nature of the beast; he's gotta be tougher". If a major player has to come out of the ring, it's similar to your starting striker not being able to play or your starting quarterback being injured. Plans have to be changed. Maybe you get lucky and everything works out even better than you hoped, but it still becomes more chancy than it might be otherwise.

If I remembered correctly, Punk returned early when he lost to Undertaker, and now this? Raw can go a couple of weeks, even a month without Punk. Let him get some much needed rest, if he continues to push himself in this fashion he's going to just get worst without rest.

WWE can go ahead and test me. Build the Rumble and WM around punk and see if my black ass tunes in

Theory: So AJ Lee's tag match on Raw was crap (all that skipping, even after a loss) and she was pinned by Natty. I wonder if they are leading up to Natty getting the belt so then Punk and AJ can take some time off together? Of course this is based on the speculation that they are in fact in a relationship.
