They don't market to previous fans, most kids won't even know who used it before Dolph. You can't just ban finishers because of predecessors who executed it better - in your opinion - else we would have no wrestling moves left, lol. Professional wrestling is about recycling, rinse and repeat but change things slightly.

That's the arugment I knew i'd get. Some moves are just iconic. This is a total preference, I think. Tombstone, Pedigree, Sweet Chin Music, Stone Cold Stunner, Rock Bottom/People's elbow, Razors edge, etc etc etc are hard to duplicate. In the back of my mind, I will immediatly go back to those that innovated the move.

Whilst I agree that they are iconic and will always remind you of them, the kids won't remember a damn thing. You can't market to the same audience forever. :)

If I were a wrestler I would demand my finisher be the running leg drop.

Wouldn't happen Jack! The Hulkster would do to you what he did to the Towers dude!

This is the "Summer of Punk" promo that he gave in ROH. Same exact stuff. I've just seen it before. I'm going to have to download complete shows of ROH and upload it to youtube in order to show you the stuff that him and DB shared. But i will do it, I promise.

I'll check it out, I've never seen it

Some solid matches on it. You will also notice that Punk tends to rehash some of his older stuff. But it is a solid DVD. I have the version with his final match against Colt Cabana on it, the kayfabe breaker.

I saw that match with him & Colt on youtube, as well as a couple other series of matches with those two.

The problem with professional wrestling is, you can't come up with 1,000's of different gimmicks. I'll supply an example, a circus, a circus consists of someone or a group of people doing tricks to entertain people, if you go to another circus and you see someone else doing the exact same thing that doesn't really mean that someone's jacked it as there's only a limited about of tricks one can do. I personally am not a huge fan of CM Punk so this isn't a biased post.

Weird analogy. I don't think the circus has the viewership or following that anyone would either notice, or care.

Moved to RAW.

And yeah. Punk's current gimmick is basically Danielson 2.0, like deth said.

Punk was doing this shit after death before dishonour 3,I'm the greatest professional wrestler walking the earth today was one of the key points of his heel promo, plus he used the symbology of leaving with the title as no one was on his level to earn a shot.
