The current title is the exact same title as the WWWF/WWF/WWE Championship has ever been. The title lineage is kept intact through that belt, however, and not the World Heavyweight Championship. In basis the WHC was absorbed into the belt, but it is not a different title than it ever has been. So technically, yes, a black man has held the current belt and that is the Rock, who has held it 8 times.

WWE World Heavyweight Championship
But do we call Nikki Bella a womens champion? We don't, because she's the former divas champ. The Rock was a WWF champ and was only half Samoan, the current title has not been held by a black man. And about fiction, people are asking for a fully black WHC. People, I know some of you are bias, but don't act like we have never seen a man of colour as the total package. When people say they want a black champ, they are not saying half black, even the Rock does not feel like a black man personally because he embodies being Samoan, it's not particularly his fault but creatives.

isn't The Rock half-black, and isn't he possibly the biggest WWE superstar ever? I mean he's definitely not Caucasian. SO RACIST!
Nut Hogan, the racist dude in private, Austin the beer loving redneck, Cena is white, all great men but had no black. Like I said, line up what blacks have got and put it nxt to white's. Don't just reply because you think it's fun to verbally bite back, actually ask yourself whether you're making a logical point or not.

I do. "She is/was the women's champion" is exactly what I say.
I know you own this website, but with all due and respect, the Divas Championship can be called anything else, related or not. It still is the Divas Championship.

I know that, and I don't like it. That's why I call it "women's".

Speaking of black men not holding the current WWE-WHC, Apollo Crews and Big E need to hold it sometime down the road.

They deserve a shot at the top.

That's not a wrestling problem. That's a society problem.
Wrestling mirrors society.
And? Wrestling should be looked as as wrestling, not as anything else, because that is what it is. Can people just accept the fact this CURRENT title has never been held by a black man! Try to find a way out of it as much as you want, nobody has held it, I rest my dang case.

I didn't read the entire thread, but who do you think deserves or deserved it?

The Rock is fucking black. He identifies as black Samoan.

And honestly, who cares what color of skin the champion has? The importance is not the color skin, but the level of talent and ability to draw

If they were racist Mark Henry would have never won a World Title at all.. That's just an excuse people use to claim they're racist just to bitch about something... The Rock is black, he became one of the biggest stars ever, what do people say about that? 'Oh, people only see him as Samoan', despite his father being Rocky Johnson... No, they're not racist, it's just people being critical because they have nothing better to do.

You are right, maybe fans(like me) just want something to complain about. I thought that it was not right to classify him as a WHC because the title was combined with another, but technically that makes Henry a WHC. I do believe we should have more blacks, but I will admit I was in the wrong, I apologize.

Big E has charisma and in-ring ability, Kofi Kingston has athleticism, in-ring ability, and a vibrant happy charisma as a babyface, he could have been one. But I will admit, I was wrong in the majority of this thread.

What they call Nikki Bella is irrelevant. The title lineage still continues through the women's belt. The WWE has SEVERAL times called former Women's Champions "Divas Champion." Just because they call "Women" "Divas" now has absolutely NOTHING to do with this discussion.

The current title HAS been held by a black man and his name is the Rock. But for arguement's sake, let's say you're right. The new title started when the titles were merged. That happened fucking 2 years ago. dimwit. There also hasn't been an Asian champion, a Latino champion... because in your argument, the damn title has barely existed. When you say that the Rock isn't a black champion because he is half black, then YOU are the one being a racist. The Rock is black, like it or not, and by saying that he is not the first black champion simply because he is not full black...that is disgusting and THAT is racist. You are the first person I have ever heard say "We need a full black champion." I don't think anyone with a shred of integrity would say that. It's revolting.

So your opinion automatically means nothing anymore. You're a hypocrite and not worth my time anymore.

I will admit that I wrote my above response before reading this. It takes a pretty big man to apologize and admit he was in the wrong about something (especially on an internet forum). So, in turn, I will apologize for getting pissed off and calling you a nitwit and yelling at you. It is because I take race relations pretty seriously, as I am sure you do as well, that it got pretty heated there.
