Results from last night's PWG: DDT 4

"Paul London NOT wrestling on PWG DDT4 show, refunds were offered."

Changes made to the lineup: Los Luchas are OUT of the tournament. Scorpio Sky and Human Tornado ("Dark and Lovely") take their place. Roderick Strong is now American Dragon's partner instead (Hero's status wasn't made clear but I assume he's making a title defense now.)"

1. Roderick Strong and Bryan Danielson b. Joey Ryan and Scott Lost. "Good match."

-> The MCMG have received a bye into the second round (no replacement 8th team will face them.)

2. Kenny Omega and Chuck Taylor b. Scorpio Sky and Human Tornado. "Funny match."

3. Phoenix Star b. CK Jackson (the younger brother of the young bucks if you don't know)

4. The Young Bucks b. The Cutler Brothers.

-> Chris Hero has an "open challenge" for tonight.

Intermission

5. The Young Bucks b. Kenny Omega and Chuck Taylor in a "great match." "The Bucks are starting to get heel heat."

6. Bryan Danielson and Roderick Strong b. The Murder City Machine Guns - "another great match."

-> Joey Ryan has accepted Chris Hero's open challenge.

7. Chris Hero b. Joey Ryan to retain the PWG World Championship.

8. The Young Bucks b. Roderick Strong and Bryan Danielson to win the DDT4 Tag Team Tournament. "Strong match." The Bucks survived everything Danielson and Strong threw at them, kicking out of ridiculous stuff until they put away AmDrag with their finisher. Arguably the most over person in the match was...Kenny Omega, doing commentary.

Looks asthough it was a good show although it may have been a little dissappointing that London wasn't there which meant Hero would be without a partner but its good they still had him on the show. The Young Bucks are awesome, them Vs Roddy and AmDrag will be a match to look out for. (I wonder what the young bucks brother, CK Jackson is like.)

Sounds like a PWG show.

Guys no-show, the show is re-made on the fly, and it still turns out well.

Not really a surprise with London, he's probably still high from Express Written Consent.

The Tri-Island Area, CA - During the Golden Age of Piracy, men (and women, but mostly men) of ill repute harassed the shipping lanes of the European super powers, engaging in so many acts of piracy that it triggered a Golden Age (lasting 8 turns). Today, piracy is a distant memory (relative to your proximity to South-Eastern Africa), with the majority of pirates having been ground to dust over two hundred and fifty years ago (those who remain have found safe harbor on the internet, where they routinely violate copyright laws). But during the glorious Golden Age that produced such notable scoundrels as Henry Morgan, Charles L. Charles, and "Blackbeard" Edward Teach, rumor spread of Guerrilla Island, somewhere deep in the Caribbean, which held the greatest pirate treasure of all, though none knew for certain what that treasure was.

To this very day, the treasure's nature and exact location remain a mystery, which is why on June 28, 2009 at American Legion Post #308 in Reseda, CA, Pro Wrestling Guerrilla invites one and all, near and far, to join us in an attempt to uncover The Secret of Guerrilla Island!

No Disqualification Match
Necro Butcher vs. Joey Ryan

-- When Chris Hero stepped aside to allow Roderick Strong to team with Bryan Danielson at DDT4, Hero offered a shot at the Pro Wrestling Guerrilla World Championship Title to any person in the building that night, which Joey Ryan very eagerly accepted. Joey, worried that his thirteen month title reign could be eclipsed by Chris Hero's reign, was beaten by Hero, but Joey still has not given up his pursuit. At this point, it is more about making sure Chris Hero does not surpass Joey's record than it is really about winning the Championship. With Hero in Japan as his reign enters its' eleventh month, he will be unable to defend the title at The Secret of Guerrilla Island, adding more and more days to his title reign.

This fact has not escaped Joey Ryan's notice, and it distresses him greatly. His calls to the Pro Wrestling Guerrilla Board of Directors demanding that Hero be stripped of the title for lack of defenses have gone unreturned, so Joey has taken drastic measures: he's Twittering about it. Reaching out to upwards of tens of hundreds of people seems to have worked out for Joey, because Chris Hero took time out of his busy schedule to not only read Joey Ryan's 140 character complaint, but to address it as well.

"At DDT4, I think I proved to just about everyone that I am more than willing to put the Pro Wrestling Guerrilla World Championship on the line against anyone, and beat them fair and square. After watching thirteen months worth of title defenses from Joey Ryan, I saw a lot of cheating, and very little reason why he should be proud of that reign. But I did notice something else: one of Joey's toughest matches was against a good friend of mine, Necro Butcher. If Joey were willing to face Necro in a rematch at The Secret of Guerrilla Island, it would show me that he's got a lot of heart. If Joey were to beat Necro fair and square, I would consider giving him another title shot... in three or four months, perhaps."

Joey contends that a victory is a victory, no matter how it comes, but if has to go through Chris Hero's entire buddy list to get another shot at stopping Hero's streak, he will. Just as long as it happens prior to August 16, 2009, the day Hero's reign surpasses Joey's.

Tag Team Match
Hybrid Dolphins ("American Dragon" Bryan Danielson & Roderick Strong) vs. Men of Low Moral Fiber (Kenny Omega & Chuck Taylor)

-- The 2009 DDT4 saw Matt and Nick Jackson, The Young Bucks, defeat three teams by the narrowest of margins to not only win the tournament, but to also retain the Pro Wrestling Guerrilla World Tag Team Championship. One team was thought of as a long shot, having been defeated by The Young Bucks twice before. The second team was thought of as a joke, two hooligans with nothing better to do than to bully a charitable Mexican lad. The third team wasn't even scheduled to be a part of the tournament, but they defied the odds only to lose to the Champions in the tournament final. While The Young Bucks reign supreme in Pro Wrestling Guerrilla, the tag team division has exploded, reaching its highest level of competition in years. This could mean it's only a matter of time before The Young Bucks are defeated, and chances are that the team to do it is in this match.

"American Dragon" Bryan Danielson and Roderick Strong, the Hybrid Dolphins, teamed together for the first time ever at DDT4, and after that evening could easily be placed in the top tier of tag teams in the world. At the beginning, they were lead into battle by the "Intrepid Traveler" Paul London, but by the end of the night Danielson and Strong had found their rhythm, and worked like a well-oiled war machine. Together, the Dolphins destroyed the Jackson brothers for close to twenty-five minutes, until Danielson was stunned for three brief seconds, which allowed the Bucks to escape with the victory, the titles, and their lives. Rather than being upset by this loss, the Dolphins took it in stride. After all, they had accomplished much in their first night together, and once they find some richer oil for their war machine, they will be unstoppable.

Kenny Omega and Chuck Taylor, united by their hatred of children, particularly those without parents, were the dark horse team at DDT4. It seemed that no one much expected them to win, though they did posses the ability to do so were they to overcome their penchant for tomfoolery. And overcome it they did, advancing to the second round where they met, and were defeated by, The Young Bucks. According to many fans in attendance at DDT4, Kenny Omega's Shinku Hadouken was an Ultra Combo Finish, which should have allowed Omega and Taylor to advance to the finals to face Danielson and Strong. What those fans fail to realize is that, A) there was no sunburst effect occurring at the time of the Hadouken, and B) the life bar at the top of the screen showed The Young Bucks with a sliver of health remaining, possibly as little as 1%. But it was enough for them to come back and win the match, and ultimately the tournament. Unlike the Dolphins, Omega and Taylor have taken this loss quite personally, and now have El Generico, Matt Jackson, and Nick Jackson all tied for first on their "list."

While both of these teams suffered setbacks at DDT4, a victory here could provide the winners with the momentum required to ultimately dethrone The Young Bucks. Bryan Danielson and Roderick Strong will be able to rely on their high level of technical ability in this tag team encounter, but if DDT4 was any indication, Kenny Omega and Chuck Taylor will have the majority of the vocal crowd on their side, effectively giving them home court advantage.

Singles Match
El Generico vs. Scott Lost

-- After his team lost to to Bryan Danielson and Roderick Strong in the opening round of DDT4, Scott Lost protested the loss publicly, saying that he and Joey Ryan, The Dynasty, were screwed over by the last minute change in opponents. Joey Ryan would eventually regain his composure enough to challenge Chris Hero later in the evening, but Scott Lost spent the rest of the night, and much of the next two weeks, alternating between sulking and drinking, and at times doing both simultaneously. With June 28 and The Secret of Guerrilla Island rapidly approaching, Scott Lost needs to sober up and get himself back into top condition; there will be no excuses if loses to El Generico with the match announced this far in advance.

El Generico too spent much of the month of May sulking, but for very different reasons. The normally durable generic luchadore had suffered a knee injury which kept him out of action at DDT4, where he would have loved to exact some measure of revenge on Kenny Omega and Chuck Taylor. Now that Omega and Taylor are poised to take the tag team world by storm (and have momentarily diverted their attention to The Young Bucks and Hybrid Dolphins), Generico has a chance to return to, and possibly surpass, his top condition. The only thing standing in his way is Scott Lost, and the only thing worse than facing Scott Lost is facing an angry and determined Scott Lost.

Singles Match
Pro Wrestling Guerrilla World Tag Team Champion Nick Jackson vs Davey Richards

-- At The Gentle Art of Making Enemies, Nick Jackson and Davey Richards met as a part of the main event Pro Wrestling Guerrilla World Tag Team Championship Title Match. The match ended with The Young Bucks victorious, but it was not a decisive victory by any means. The normally agile Richards was caught off guard by Nick Jackson just long enough to be handed the loss, which enraged Richards and lead to Rick Knox running across six counties in an effort to escape Davey's wrath. Much like famed buccaneer Largo LeGrande, the only thing bigger than Davey Richards' appetite is his nigh-unquenchable thirst for vengeance; six months after the fact, Davey is only marginally less angry with Nick Jackson than he was in early January. With former partner Roderick Strong moving on to a new team, it is up to Davey Richards to satisfy his rage alone.

Will the beating Nick Jackson endured at the hands of Strong and Bryan Danielson at DDT4 have changed the normally gregarious Young Buck's attitude and catch Davey unawares? Or will the missing presence of older brother Matt, combined with the violent temper of Davey Richards, prove to be Nick Jackson's undoing?

Tag Team Match
The Cutler Brothers (Brandon & Dustin Cutler) vs Malachi "CK" Jackson & Jerome "LTP" Robinson

-- After losing to The Young Bucks for the second consecutive event at DDT4, Brandon and Dustin Cutler have been knocked back to square one in their quest for the Pro Wrestling Guerrilla World Tag Team Championship. Though the Cutlers filed an official complaint with the Board of Directors saying there was a kick out prior to the three count in their match at DDT4, the decision in the ring stands, so the Cutler Brothers must move forward. Despite the fact that they may not be as famous as another pair of brothers from the high desert outside of Los Angeles, they know they have what it takes to get another shot at the Pro Wrestling Guerrilla World Tag Team Championship, and to be the ones to knock The Young Bucks themselves back to square one.

Even though his debut at DDT4 was unsuccessful, Malachi Jackson had achieved a very important goal: he got his foot in the door, so to speak. And when he heard that his oldest brother Matt wouldn't be able to make it to The Secret of Guerrilla Island on June 28, Mal thought it would be the perfect opportunity to team up with his brother Nick to show everyone what the Jackson boys are capable of. Nick, in the way of all older brothers, shot down this idea, saying that Malachi had a long way to go before he was on the level of The Young Bucks. Mal, in the way of all younger brothers, grew determined not only to show Nick that he was wrong, but to rub his face in it. Without any other brothers to team with, Malachi Jackson went far afield and found a very eager soul brother: Jerome "LTP" Robinson. Robinson, or "LTP" as he's often known, is a high flying young up-and-comer here in Southern California who has been patiently biding his time, awaiting an opportunity just like this.

Will the Cutlers be able to regroup after two consecutive losses at the hands of their arch rivals, or will their confidence be shaken to the point where Malachi Jackson and Jerome "LTP" Robinson can make a huge impact in Pro Wrestling Guerrilla?

Singles Match
Human Tornado vs Johnny Goodtime

-- When Dark & Lovely (Human Tornado & Scorpio Sky) reunited at DDT4, things were looking up for Human Tornado. Plagued by injuries (and his past) for the second half of 2008, Tornado made his triumphant return to Pro Wrestling Guerrilla earlier this year only to come up short again Pro Wrestling Guerrilla World Champion Chris Hero. Post-match, Tornado attempted to bury the hatchet with Hero in what could only be considered as one of the most half-hearted apologies the world has ever seen. Hero would not accept the apology, saying that Tornado's actions would speak louder than "My bad." Torn between doing what he wanted to and what he felt was right, old friend and tag team partner Scorpio Sky helped set Tornado on the right path. But mere minutes after reuniting, Sky's back was re-injured at DDT4, and he is out of action for the immediate future. Will Human Tornado continue down the path of redemption, or without Scorpio Sky there to help him along, will Tornado fall back into his questionable ways?

Caught up in all of this drama is Johnny Goodtime, who much like Malachi Jackson and Jerome "LTP" Robinson, is a rising star in the Southern California wrestling scene. Goodtime (Goodtimebergski, before his family passed through Ellis Island) is known for his high flying and fast paced offense, would like nothing more than to make a name for himself in Pro Wrestling Guerrilla in his first outing. Taking on a former World Champion in your first match with a promotion is not an opportunity many receive, and Goodtime is intent on making the most of it.

Pro Wrestling Guerrilla's The Secret of Guerrilla Island takes place Sunday, June 28, 2009, at 5:00 PM at American Legion Post #308 in Reseda, CA. American Legion Post #308 is located at 7338 Canby Ave., Reseda, CA 91335. General Admission tickets are $20 and will be available at the door. Some new faces involved, interesting.

Do they really expect London to show?

And be sober enough to wrestle?

PWG-The Secret of Guerilla Island results:

- Excalibur is MC tonight. Talks about all the deaths recently Billy Mays, Farrah Fawcett, Michael Jackson, Ted Tanabe and Mitsuharu Misawa. 10 bell salute for Misawa.

- To note everyone entered to a Michael Jackson song for the show (From Smooth Criminal to Thriller). Human Tornado had Remember Jackson gear on and MJ style glasses. El Generico busted out some sweet dance moves for his entrance with a moonwalk, spin and crotch grab. And Necro Butcher had Thriller so he did part of that dance.

- Johnny Goodtime vs. Charles Mercury: It was an ok match, some scary bumps to the floor that weren't needed here. Goodtime gets the pin with a wacky leghooked DDT. **

- Human Tornado vs. Chuck Taylor: The crowd was shocked by Chuck's short hair (f'n Ants). Some funny spots with hair pulling and a person in the crowd calling Chuck out. Chuck pins Tornado with a bad looking Omega Driver. **3/4

- CK Jackson & LTP vs. Cutlers: Cutlers called LTP Garry Coleman since he is small, black and has the same hair, crowd chanted the same and as a MJ reference called him Webster as well. Some sloppy stuff mostly involving the Jackson but cool finish with Cutlers hitting an awesome double Piledriver. *1/2

- Kenny Omega vs. Roderick Strong: Crazy loud Omega chants as he enters. Fun match with Omega fearing the chop. Good action which ended with a superplex from Strong that lead to a double pin. Excal tried to restart but Omega left. Then returned and said he would wrestle for one minute with Generico counting (he meant Excal, it got a laugh). This was one long minute Excal stopped counting all the time. Time runs out as Omega gets pinned. DRAW ***1/2

Intermission

- Scott Lost vs. El Generico: Lost works the bad knee. Generico makes a big comeback but ends up getting pinned by the Big Fat Kill. Lost pinned Generico...ugh. ***1/4

- Davey Richards vs. Nick Jackson: Davey beat this man all over kingdom come. Even brought out a shovel to bury him. He looked to finish with a DR Driver 2 followed by the SSP but even though the ref counted 3 he said this wasn't over. Hmmm...smell something funny do I. Davey then tapped Nick with a Cloverleaf. ***

- Street Fight: Joey Ryan vs. Necro Butcher: The camera right side of the crowd were for Necro and camera left was Joey (my side). Slow start till Necro attacked and busted Joey with SCISSORS! Necro attacked Ref. Knox in the crowd then when he pinned Joey he had no one to count. So Joey came back with a chair shot Superkick for the pin. ***1/2

Necro then hit the most horrifying unprotected chair shot I've ever seen on Knox, what an ass. Ok show.

Pro Wrestling Guerrilla World Championship Title Guerrilla Warfare Match
Chris Hero (Champion) vs. Joey Ryan (Challenger)

These two have been feuding for awhile now and its been pretty interesting from what I've read. I think Hero will retain here in what should be a great match, I'm not familiar with what a Guerrilla Warfare match is but it sounds epic.

Non-Title Tag Team Match
The Young Bucks (Matt & Nick Jackson) vs. 2 Skinny Black Guys (El Generico & Human Tornado)

This should be a great match and I expect alot out of these guys, I think Generico and Tornado will get the win as the titles aren't on the line. Young Bucks are awesome btw.

Singles Match
Scott Lost vs. Alex Shelley

I'm happy they managed to get the MCMGs to come in and in singles action which means we should have two good matches instead of the usual one tag. I think and hope Shelley gets the win, should be good.

Singles Match
"American Dragon" Bryan Danielson vs. Chris Sabin

This may be the best match on the card, should be epic. I think Danielson may get the win here although I'm not too sure.

Singles Match
Davey Richards vs. Roderick Strong

Yet another awesome looking match, I don't have a clue as to who will win so I'm gonna choose Davey although I want Roddy too destroy him.

Singles Match
Colt "Boom Boom" Cabana vs. Chuck Taylor

This is going to own, probably the two funniest guys in wrestling, the match could be good too.

I didn't talk about the other few matches as I don't know the wrestlers to well but from the looks of the matches above this PPV will be awesome!

Pro Wrestling Guerrilla's Speed of Sound takes place on August 28, 2009!
By Silverback, Pro Wrestling Guerrilla Staff Writer

Reseda, CA - With Pro Wrestling Guerrilla's (http://www.prowrestlingguerrilla.com) Threemendous II going down in the books as a huge success, it is now time to follow in the footsteps of many other great promotions and acts, and take this show on the road. We are proud to announce that on Friday, August 28, 2009 at 8:00PM, Pro Wrestling Guerrilla will embark on the Speed of Sound tour, bringing our unique brand of professional wrestling to fans all around the world. The single day, single venue tour will start and end in the historic city of Reseda, in sunny California, at the famed American Legion Post #308 on Friday the 28th.

While the Speed of Sound tour will stop in as many locations as possible, there is a chance that we may not visit whatever remote locale you call home. Fear not, there will be an eventual tour DVD release, and perhaps next year, if your city reaches the level of a thriving metropolis such as Reseda, we may end up in your neck of the woods.

Pro Wrestling Guerrilla's Speed of Sound takes place on Friday, August 28, 2009 at American Legion Post #308 in Reseda, CA, and will feature:

Pro Wrestling Guerrilla World Championship Title Match
Chris Hero vs. Roderick Strong

-- After defeating Joey Ryan at Threemendous II, Chris Hero's path to becoming the longest reigning Pro Wrestling Guerrilla World Champion is clear. However, there has been much criticism directed at Hero because while he has surpassed Joey's reign in terms of length, he is nowhere near Joey's record of title defenses. In fact, while Chris Hero has surpassed the average number of defenses for a Pro Wrestling Guerrilla World Champion (5.34 defenses, avg.), he isn't even half way to beating Joey's record (Joey's nineteen to Hero's nine). So while the length of Hero's reign is impressive, statistically speaking, he is nowhere near the type of champion Joey Ryan was. And if there is one person in the company that statistics are important to, it's Roderick Strong.

Wearing reading glasses and a bankers green eyeshade, and equipped with his copy of the 2009 Pro Football Prospectus, along with print outs from ESPN.com and Football Outsiders, Roderick Strong spent the majority of his time backstage at Threemendous II elbow deep in stats. After all, the Fantasy Football season is fast approaching, and if Roderick doesn't have a strong draft lineup prepared, the Tampa Teabaggers' season could be over before it even begins. But when Roderick took a moment to examine the 2009 Pro Wrestling Guerrilla Prospectus, he was shocked to find out that not only did he defeat Chris Hero in singles competition (at It's a Gift... and a Curse), but thanks to the overall wins-to-tile shot ratio (determined by a number of factors, including opponents' WER, or Wrestler Efficiency Rating, et al.), Roderick Strong was in line for a title shot. "Bro, if stats can make a boring sport like baseball marginally interesting, imagine what they could do for professional wrestling!" quipped Strong, who holds a MBA (Business) from the University of South Florida.

If Roderick Strong can defeat Chris Hero to capture the Pro Wrestling Guerrilla World Championship at Speed of Sound, all those years of studying and putting education first will pay some very unexpected dividends. And it could usher in a new era of statistically analysis to professional wrestling! However, if Chris Hero manages to once again retain the championship, he will have proven that not only is he an above-average Champion, but that at the end of the day, stats are for nerds, bro.

Non-Title Tag Team Match
The Young Bucks (Matt & Nick Jackson) vs. The Dynasty International (Karl "Machine Gun" Anderson & Joey Ryan)

-- When Matt and Nick Jackson, The Young Bucks, successfully defended the Pro Wrestling Guerrilla World Tag Team Championship three times in one evening at DDT4, they discovered what happens when companies allow the ¡ACIDENTES! 888-8888 guy to draw up championship contracts. Typically, champions have ninety days from the date of their last defense until they must once again defend the title. While the Pro Wrestling Guerrilla Board of Directors can make exceptions from time to time, the rule is usually followed. However, due to a rather large loophole in the contracts drawn up by Señor Ocho Ocho Ocho in the early days of Pro Wrestling Guerrilla, the ninety day periods accrue, meaning that in one night, The Young Bucks bought themselves nine months free of title defenses.

Of course, The Young Bucks say that once top contenders to their championship present themselves, they would be more than happy to put the titles on the line. But with Kenny Omega out of the country, and Chuck Taylor and El Generico facing off at Speed of Sound to determine the Number One contenders, the Bucks claim that there are simply no teams deserving of a title shot. Karl "Machine Gun" Anderson and Joey Ryan beg to differ.

Their history as a tag team is legendary, at least on Joey Ryan and Karl Anderson's respective Twitter accounts (@joeymagnumryan & @Machinegunka), and thanks to that history, they believe that The Dynasty International should be next in line for a shot at the World Tag Team Championship. However, much like 2 Skinny Black Guys, Anderson and Ryan have not teamed in Pro Wrestling Guerrilla often enough to warrant a title shot. However, if The Dynasty International is able to follow in the footsteps of Generico & Tornado and pick up a victory over The Young Bucks at Speed of Sound, they will definitely find themselves in the title picture.

Special Grudge Match
"American Dragon" Bryan Danielson vs. Brian Kendrick

-- When Brian Kendrick was last seen on the independent professional wrestling circuit over four years ago, Pro Wrestling Guerrilla had established itself as (probably) the greatest professional wrestling promotion in the universe, Rick Knox had a flowing head of hair, and "American Dragon" Bryan Danielson was widely regarded as the best wrestler in the entire world. Sadly, today only two of those three statements remain true, but according to Brian Kendrick, it's impossible for any of those things to be true.

Without Brian Kendrick in their lives, fans of Pro Wrestling Guerrilla didn't know they were missing. Sure, it's great if some lackwits think you're the best wrestler in the world, but that's just because Brian Kendrick isn't standing next to you. It's easy to call yourselves the greatest promotion in the universe, but the second Brian Kendrick Pro Wrestling opens its' doors, everyone else is going out of business. And it's easy to pretend like the ravages of Male Pattern Baldness haven't effected you, but one look at the long, luxurious locks of Brian Kendrick tells you otherwise.

A world without Brian Kendrick is not a world that Brian Kendrick wants to live in. That's why on August 28, at Speed of Sound, Brian Kendrick will return to Pro Wrestling Guerrilla and show the fans exactly what they've been missing, and why they're better off now than they have ever been before. Bryan Danielson, on the other hand, is wondering why everyone he knows from the Texas Wrestling Academy is now completely insane.

Reseda Street Fight for Number One Contendership to the World Tag Team Championship
El Generico vs. Chuck Taylor

-- DDT4 was a major turning point for the tag team division in Pro Wrestling Guerrilla. A series of very close pinfall attempts on The Young Bucks lead to many fans believing that Kenny Omega and Chuck Taylor, the Men of Low Moral Fiber, should be, if not Pro Wrestling Guerrilla World Tag Team Champions, at least in line for another shot at the titles. At Threemendous II, the tag team landscape changed once again when El Generico and Human Tornado, the newly reunited 2 Skinny Black Guys, were able to defeat the Champions in a non-title bout. A strong case could be made for either team to be Number One Contenders to the World Tag Team Championship, however very few battles in professional wrestling are solved via arbitration, let alone ones this heated.

For months, the Men of Low Moral Fiber have been verbally abusing El Generico, and threatening him with physical violence, only for a series of chance interruptions to prevent an attack from taking place. At Threemendous II, the rivalry was taken to a new level when Chuck Taylor attacked El Generico from behind, then stated his team were the rightful top contenders. At Speed of Sound, months of verbal and now physical abuse will come to a head when Chuck Taylor, representing the Men of Low Moral Fiber, will take on El Generico, representing 2 Skinny Black Guys, in a Reseda Street Fight to determine the Number One Contenders to the Pro Wrestling Guerrilla World Tag Team Championship.

Omega and Taylor have stated in the past that they own the streets of Reseda, so it would seem that this type of match would favor Chuckie T. On top of that, Chuck Taylor has some strong words for El Generico: "Go ahead and laugh it up with your buddy Cabana, but after Speed of Sound, you'll be drinking your tacos through a straw, amigo."

However, El Generico has never had a street fight, No Disqualification, or Guerrilla Warfare match in his Pro Wrestling Guerrilla Career, so he is the great unknown. It's not easy growing up on the streets of Tijuana, having to fight off hordes of other children for a carelessly discarded tamale found in the gutter, so one could imagine that El Generico might be in familiar territory come August 28.

Speed of Sound on August 28 will feature three more exciting matches, including:

Singles Match
Colt "Boom Boom" Cabana vs. Scott Lost

Tag Team Match
The Cutler Brothers (Brandon & Dustin Cutler) vs. Brandon Gatson & Johnny Goodtime

Four-Way Match
Human Tornado vs. Shane Haste vs. Charles Mercury vs. Jerome "LTP" Robinson

Pro Wrestling Guerrilla's Speed of Sound takes place Friday, August 28, 2009, at 8:00 PM at American Legion Post #308 in Reseda, CA. American Legion Post #308 is located at 7338 Canby Ave., Reseda, CA 91335. Front Row tickets are $25, and General Admission tickets are $20. Pro Wrestling Guerrilla ran on Friday night in front of another packed house, with the main draws being the stars of Dragon Gate and Bryan Danielson's final PWG match before going to WWE. Show starts off with the usual promo from Excalibur.

Match 1: LTP, Johnny Goodtime, and Shane Hasts over Charles Mercury & The Cutler Brothers and Los Luchas & Malachi Jackson: This match was patterned after the Toryumon triangle tags. Fast paced match, with an exciting opening sequence that featured the heel team of Mercury and the Cutlers taking dives from the faces. Nobody really shined in this match besides the Cutlers. Solid opener that got fans hot.

Match 2: Candice LeRae over Christina Von Eerie: Von Eerie was making her debut at this show, and this match was the first women's match to take place in PWG since March of 2008. Mostly brawling, with Von Eerie working a very stiff style. I would like to see Von Eerie return to PWG sometime in the future.

Following this match a couple of members of the ring crew were asked to tighten the top rope, but instead tightened the bottom rope. Excalibur got on the mic and had to instruct them and cracked a joke. When they finished, Excalibur poked fun at the overweight one by saying "that'll do pig."

Match 3: Scott Lost over Human Tornado: Good match, with various comedy spots thrown in including some kung fu sequences during the match. Scott Lost picks up the victory with a Big Fat Kill (spinning back kick to the face) that looked really cool. Post match Tornado sold the kick really well by acting like he had no idea what happened.

Match 4: Roderick Strong over Karl Anderson: Good heavyweight style match. Several chop and strike exchanges in this that the crowd was really into, Both men used their finishing holds (Boston Crabs) on each other until Strong used a Strong Hold (Liontamer) to get the victory.

Match 5: Naruki Doi over Joey Ryan: Don't really remember much from this aside from Joey being really over with the crowd. Not a bad clash of styles type match, and the heat helped it out.

Match 6: Shingo Takagi over El Generico: Following intermission, Generico and Takagi went on to have a great match with tons of dramatic nearfalls and false finishes. The fans in attendance were eating this up. Generico took a great beating, and the finish with Generico getting dropped on his head via a Last Falconry really got the crowd to react loudly. Possibly the loudest I've ever heard a PWG crowd up until this point.

Match 7: CIMA & The Motor City Machine Guns defeated Brian Kendrick & The Young Bucks: The Bucks continue to draw heat from the fans, and they have adapted well to the crowd rejecting them as of late. Lots of team work from both teams through out the match. CIMA got the pinfall on Kendrick, and after the match received a great ovation from the fans.

Match 8: Bryan Danielson defeated Chris Hero to become the new PWG World Champion: Danielson came out to a huge pop and was the crowd favorite. Great match, with Hero turning into a major a****** during it, busting him open and screaming at him while he had submissions applied. Danielson would later make a comeback and submit Hero that resulted into the loudest ovation I've heard at a PWG crowd. Post match saw a celebration with Paul London coming out to congratulate his Hybrid Dolphins partner. Danielson cut an emotional, humble promo and thanked the fans for their support. As various wrestlers came out to pay their respect, Danielson then vacated the PWG World Championship. Then he declared that a new PWG World Champion will be crowned at the 2009 Battle Of Los Angeles. The match itself went about 45 minutes, was the epitome of an epic battle, and a possible MOTYC from any promotion.

Great show. One of the best top to bottom cards PWG has ever put on. I highly recommend the DVD when it comes out. The last three matches really brought the show to a whole new level. Next show is October 2nd, with the returning crowd favorites Kenny Omega and Chuck Taylor taking on The Young Bucks for the PWG World Tag Team Championship.
