Not really bringing anyone in but letting them go #Middlesbroughlogic
We're letting go our Right Back, possibly our two CBs (two best in the league imo) letting our two CMs go, Nicky Bailey should be playing in the prem and Barry Robson is going to Canada, why he is I will never know. And to to replace all of them, we signed... Grant Leadbitter :facepalm1: things are not looking good next season for us. How about Wed though, any important signings coming in?

I saw Baily play in the few games I watched Middlesbrough last season and boy was I impressed.

He's a fantastic Championship holding Midfielder and would be a decent to good Prem player, shame we're losing him but he deserves better than us. I hated him when he first signed, said he was one of our worst ever players (he was an attacking midfielder when he signed) but then Tony Mogga switched him to DMF and he instantly became my favourite Boro player.

We've picked up a fair few signings so far actually.

Gardner - Will be great if we get 30 games out of him IMO, Palace and Hull fans love him.

Mattock - Had problems since leaving Leicester but Brighton fans seemed to adore him so hopefully he's got his shit together.

Lee - Crayo may know him, the ex Man U lad who plays RB. Anyway won Oldham's player of the year I think, obviously it's only L1 but still he could be a good back up to Buxton.

Kirkland - If he stays fit will be on of the best keepers in the league IMO, that is a big if though.

Maguire - Pompey fans loved him, Derby fans wanted him to play before he fell out with Clough. Looks to be a good creative player who does a shift. Again looks to be a decent buy.

I know what you mean about not holding onto your best players we had years of that before Milan took over with Brunt, Whelan and countless others lol. I've heard Bailey is meant to be a great player also tbh. Hope things pick up a bit for your lot, always liked Boro, especially for the academy, that was incredible at one point.

I always thought he could fit quite well in Swansea's set up personally.

@Seabs: I hated Lee, I remember watching him in reserve games (yes I watch United reserve games), but I always thought he had talent but wasn't using it. I didn't watch League 1 at all so I have no idea what he's like now.

Apparently he came on a ton with first team football, worst case scenario he'll be a back up to Buxton. Who has arguably been our best performer at RB for the past 2 years.

Back up, it's been the 1st time in years we've had a proper squad. The last time in the championship we couldn't even name a 7 player bench for a few games :urm:

Kirkland would be a great signing but like you said, he has to stay fit, heard Lee is supposed to be a good championship player but don't really know the others, think you'll be a strong team next season, don't think it will be anywhere near promotion but still L1 to championship can be really hard the first season but can see you finishing just below mid table. Our academy has dropped a bit over the last couple of years, but when we played Sunderland in the cup last season 9 of our 11 players were all from our academy and we still drew with them, I was a very proud Boro fan that day. Rhys Williams is another great player we've brought through, unfortunately it looks like were letting him go but he will be great when he gets older. But i'll never lose faith in us. In Mogga We Trust!

Heard about Williams as well, I guess you'll be able to get decent money for him. TBH I'm hoping for Midtable, and I'm expecting it somewhere around it, 15th would do me. Some of our fans are saying we'll get promoted in a ridiculously strong league, which to me is very premature.

Lol, same happened with us last year, Steele got injured in the warm up and we didn't have another keeper on the bench, so we had to beg Fat Sam to let us put in someone who wasn't on the bench, unfortunately he let us because it meant we didn't have an excuse for losing, jk. But tbh i'm quite proud of last season, we were the third last unbeaten team in all of English football, so Mowbray so far has done a great job, but we just don't have the money anymore with parashute payments running out and Gibson running out of money, if we ever go into liquidation I don't know what i'll do, probably support Hartlepool as I don't have the stomach to support Sunderland or Newcastle. Would never love them as much though, no matter what i'll always be a smoggie!

Yeah, tbh I want you to do well (obviously not better than us) but would love for both of us to get promoted but it won't happen next season, i've always prefered Wed to United but don't know why, guess it's because you had Bryan Robson aswell, he's a legend at Boro.

I don't see either getting promoted imo. I think the obvious favourites would be Blackburn, Bolton and Wolves.

Agree unfortunately, I think last season was our best shot for a long time, we were 2nd at Christmas and then didn't even get in the Playoffs! Got another season ticket for next year but not expecting much, guess that's the privelidge of supporting Middlesbrough, they always disapoint you.:upset:
