Trachtenberg for sure for me is 3 for 3 with Prey, Killer of Killers, and now Badlands. I thought my shitty relationship was bad with my Father Dek and Kwei blows it away 15 or 20 Minutes into the film. I like that attention to detail because for sure Yautja want the strongest for their Clans and would want to weed out ones that they are not up to snuff in their eyes. The other day I was with my Mother and one of my Brothers on Thanksgiving talking about everything that has happened with the family since 08. My Brother Ant was the youngest of us 4 Brothers and me having tears down my eyes I told he's the best of us all. The kid could of went the wrong way in life but all the stuff he saw and went through since then to now he has 3 jobs, and a GF, and an Apartment. What I'm going with that is when Kwei sacrifices himself for Dek I would of done the same thing in a heartbeat for one of my Brothers especially Anthony.
So now you've got me interested in not just Dek and his journey and wanting but the stuff with Weyland and them wanting the Kalisk and how it ties to Tessa and Thia. I thought that was pretty strong Weyland will always continue to want to get Creatures like this if it means them making more money for their Company. They don't care who gets hurt or dies in the process the goal is the goal for them. Elle Fanning I liked her in both roles in this film. I didn't have a problem with her talking so much you've got a Predator who barely speaks and Bud doesn't as well she needed to speak to tell us the ins and outs of the Genna planet. They played off each other really well for me and they became a Clan of their own in the end it worked out. Some people not like that Kalisk didn't get killed by Dek but he's always done things his own way and he got back his honor his way not the Clan's way. I loved end fight with Dek's Father and how much he's grown in battle in front of other Clan members that made me hard for sure to see. I wonder where this might go especially with Dek's Mother showing up which will be a first to see a Female Yautja in Live Action. Surely Weyland you imagine could find Thia and find out where they are right?
