So if you were watching the past week's episode of Impact Wrestling, you would have noticed a big segment in the show where Devon confronted Pope about spending too much time with his children. I believe the idea is that Devon thinks Pope is a bad influence on them and wants to be the one to raise them right. This of course led to Pope beating down Devon and the kids threw in with him as well. This angle has been building for quite some time and my question is, does anyone really care at this point? I don't mean it in a negative way, I just wonder why it has taken months for them to reach this inevitable angle.

Does anyone else here feel that this has been drawn out for way too long to allow for any kind of adequate payoff at this point?

It's definitely been drawn out way too long. Now, it is pretty much at the point where it is no surprise. This should have happened a lot sooner, I think the ship has sailed.

Given that they are also running a father/son angle with Garrett and Eric it seems like overkill to me.

Yeah, too much family drama...we've endured McMahons and Hogans over the years, no need to keep the trend going.

I guess its just the angle that keeps on giving. We've also seen Angle and Jarrett feud over family drama in TNA this year.

It's almost like a creative team backup plan...when all else fails, make it all the way personal.

I get the reasoning because its so simple to write and book, but to have three separate angles about the same thing in one year is way too much.

Yes, the "family feud" angle should be filed away in the Department of Redundancy Department.

Too much flip flopping on Pope's part. How can you possibly change sides so much?

I wish I knew. Since this angle started, he's changed positions at least three times. It makes your head spin thinking about it because they just wound up here. If this was the end game, why go through all the trouble of trying to turn Pope face? Maybe he wasn't getting the reaction TNA wanted from him. Who knows.
