Bruno Mars’ Debut Certified Platinum


Bruno Mars is a worldwide hit. His 2010 debut Doo-Wops & Hooligans has been certified platinum in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, and other countries, with additional gold certification in international terrains including Korea, Belgium, France, and Indonesia.


The singer-songwriter, who has sold 14 million singles worldwide, was recently named one of TIME magazine’s most influential people in the world alongside President Obama, Oprah Winfrey, Justin Bieber, and more. To celebrate his achievement, he will perform with fellow honoree Sting at New York City’s Jazz at Lincoln Center on April 26.

The gig comes in anticipation of his “Hooligans in Wondaland” tour with Janelle Monáe, kicking off at New York’s Roseland Ballroom on May 4.

Lindsay Lohan Sentenced to JAIL!!!

Judge Stephanie Sautner just threw the book at Lindsay Lohan for her probation violation, sentencing her to 120 days in county jail!!!



Lindsay has been remanded into custody and taken to the basement of the courthouse for booking.

Lohan was also ordered to complete 480 days of community service -- 360 of those hours must be performed at the Downtown Women's Center, so Lindsay can see how needy women have to live. The remaining 120 hours will be served at the L.A. County morgue.

Judge Sautner explained that Lindsay should have called the store and notified the owners about the necklace sooner. She waited several weeks and returned the necklace after finding out the cops were about to raid her house.

Sautner seemed influenced by the surveillance video, which she saw for the first time in court today. Sautner agreed with Danette Meyers, who argued Linsday used her friend Patrick as a decoy to distract the clerk.

Holley said in court she would appeal the sentence.

Lindsay Lohan just can't catch a break. Just when it seemed as though the troubled former Disney starlet was finally getting herself together by snagging a role in the new film Gotti: Three Generations, up pops her daddy dearest to embarrass her. No, he's not in trouble with the law again. Far from it, he's got a new gig as well. Hold onto your hats for this one. MichaelLohan is going to become a $10,000 a pop professional dinner date.

Yes, for a price, you can enjoy an evening of dinner, dancing, and the incomparable company of Lindsay Lohan's bizarre buffoon of a father. However, lest anyone think Michael is just a run of the mill escort, he's not. His standards are extremely high. In addition to the $10,000 firstdate minimum, he also requires - "first class airfare if he has to travel out of state for the date" plus "four star hotel accommodations or better."
Good grief.


It all started when Michael signed up for a lifetime membership on a website called WhatsYourPrice.com, "which specializes in members offering money to go on a first date." Although, the deal hasn't yet been officially signed and finalized, the former Celebrity Rehab "patient" has decided to donate all his earnings to charity.

“I’m willing to do this in order to donate the money to a rehab and recovery program or programs,” Lohan declared. “Dinner usually costs between $200 and $500. Why not get paid for it and have it go to a good cause?”

Why not indeed? When asked if he would follow in the footsteps of many professional escorts and go "all the way," Michael coyly replied: “What happens on a dinner date? I don’t kiss and tell.”


So there you have it. Michael Lohan--professional dater, escort, dinner companion. Whatever. Wonder what Dr. Drew Pinsky will make of this? More importantly, what will LindsayLohan say about this? This will really have her cowering in the closet.
Note: Perhaps the real question here is not how or what, but who. Who would pay $10, let alone $10,000 for a date with Michael Lohan? The man is ridiculous. And ugly.

When she won a Bafta Award in 2006 for Best Supporting Actress for her role in Dreamgirls, Jennifer Hudson was delighted but was unable to collect the prestigious prize in person.

So officials decided to send the award over to her in the US through the post... but it never arrived.

And now, five years after she was meant to receive the prize, Hudson was reunited with her award during an interview on The Graham Norton Show.


Norton presented Hudson with the award in an humorous ceremony reenactment, but the surprise gift left 29-year-old Hudson slightly emotional.

Hudson, who showed off her amazing figure in a tight black Victoria Beckham dress, also spoke to Norton about her recent incredible weight loss.

The actress, who has dropped five dress sizes after adopting the WeightWatchers eating plan, said: 'I’ve had all kinds of reactions.


'People have said, "It’s not Jennifer" or "you look just like Jennifer Hudson… you have her face," even my son doesn’t recognise me from before and he didn’t know me when I was large.'

And Hudson, who is currently in the UK to promote her new album I Remember Me, is also feeling excited about next week's Royal Wedding - especially as she is planning her own nuptials to fiancé David Otunga.

Asked if she would ever get married, Hudson replied: 'Yes. Eventually I am. I am engaged, I have the dress and everything. I hear Kate has four dress options but my dress has four parts in one – it has its own show.'

Elton John And David Furnish Confirm Lady Gaga As Godmother

This week Sir Elton John, 64, and husband David Furnish, 48, confirmed that superstar Lady Gaga is the godmother of their 4-month-old son, Zachary Jackson Levon Furnish-John.

During a "20/20" interview that aired Friday, host Barbara Walters asked the couple about their decision to select the controversial "Judas" singer for the special honor.


"A lot of people said, 'Oh, that's crazy,'" Elton revealed. "And they don't know her, and we do."

Elton suggested that the public not judge the singer born Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta by her stage persona alone. "When you get to the real person underneath, there's a simple girl who loves her parents," he said.

Kris Jenner is transitioning from mom-ager to full-time manager.

Jenner, who already manages her kids and the band BG5, has formed a new joint venture with music management group Wright-Crear Management, E! reports. Her son, Rob, will assume the day-to-day operations.

"Music is in my blood and this is my dream job," he told E! News.

Wright-Crear Management has an extensive client list from founders Kenneth Crear and Johnny Wright that has included Ciara, Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears, Janet Jackson and the Backstreet Boys.

"Rob will be signing clients on his own," Crear said. "Kendall [Jenner] may want to get into music, and that could be an option."

With a starring role on NBC’s ‘The Voice’, things appear to be looking up for Christina Aguilera. Indeed, while promoting the much hyped show show – which kicks off tomorrow, the singer revealed that she’s in a more positive space.

The last 12 months, which saw her ‘Bionic’ album tank, as well as her marriage and crumble career, have been a learning experience – Aguilera says. One which we’ll see incorprated into her upcoming new LP – which she is already recording.

“The last year has probably, with the divorce and considering everything that’s gone on, has humbled me a little bit,” she says with a laugh.

Aguilera says The Voice represents a new beginning for her in every sense. The concept of the show intrigued her and took her back to why she started singing. “Being in this business for quite a few years now, sometimes you do take things for granted. I’ve had my ups and I’ve had my downs. You have to take the good with the bad in this business. It gets me back to the root of why I got into this business, and that’s real, raw talent,” says Aguilera, 30.

The show films in Los Angeles and has allowed Aguilera to stay near her son, Max, 3, and record her new album. The next release, Aguilera says, will focus on her personal evolution.

“For this one, I really want to make a real rooted, heartfelt record. After someone goes through the things that I have, regarding a divorce, there’s a lot of emotions that are stirred,” she says.

Aguilera, whose towering talent has never been questioned, says she keeps right on going, even when things get tough.

“I prove to myself that I’m stronger than just to let things take over me, and take over my head space,” Aguilera says. “I’m very honest with myself in seeing if there are things that I need to change about my life, or if there are things I need to do stepping forward.

“That’s in part why I got the divorce. It’s a new beginning for me. It’s all positivity for me. I’ve been through some hard things, but I’m on the up and up. “

The advice she would most want to impart to the contestants she’s coaching on her team? To always follow your gut and focus on why you’re making music. It’s not about the freebies or the fame.

“There’s so much in the media and in the press, opportunities to get swayed. That’s why I stay so far away from reading anything about myself.

“I love to sing. It’s what moves me and inspires me. To be able to do that is a gift.”

Kudos to Christina for pressing on. It already looks like she’s on the right path; for, not only is she not waiting another 4 years before serving up another project, she’s appears to be recording music with some depth. After all, ‘Bionic’ was not a bad record – at least not to the degree it was made out to be. However, what was vitally missing was any kind of authentic musical grit; the sort you’d expect from self-appreciative singer-songwriter of Christina’s caliber. Put simply, from the lyrical content, to the production, to the supposed “futuristic” slant, it all seemed somewhat contrived and forced.

While the last few years have seen Christina adamant on changing her sound and image with each project, both she and her team failed to see that what made her ‘Stripped’ album her most appreciated to date. Not any gimmick, nor specific sound or look. Rather, it was lyrical depth, honesty, and more over a brand of ‘real’ which allowed tracks like ‘The Voice Within’ to sit effortlessly beside songs such as ‘Dirty’.
Here’s hoping she rediscovers that formula, which – in reality – isn’t a formula at all.

Don’t expect another Black Eyed Peas album anytime soon. Resident Pea Fergie revealed that following the completion of their summer tour, the group will take a break from recording and be “more selective” about the ventures and performances they do.


Fergie Ferg couldn’t help but share her excitement about her upcoming downtime. “I am so excited to take a break. The guys know that I’ve been waiting and it’s time and it’s exciting,” she told the AP. “We’ve had such a great run together and we’re still touring this year, just less, more selective and we’re not working [on an album]. Unless they’re doing one without me.”

And while fans might expect her to put out a follow-up to 2006’s The Dutchess, she’s going to focus more of her time on philanthropic endeavors. “I’m gonna get more into my charities. Charity work. I’m excited to do more of that. Give back, make it not so much about me, me, me, me, me,” she continued. “And having some free time. I have a football team that I’m a limited owner of, the Miami Dolphins, and I want to go to a game.”

Additionally, she’s setting her sights on her Fergie Footwear shoe line, which debuted last week. “Seeing the line progress has been wonderful for me because I get to see how things get tweaked. I get to see the different use of materials and these are all things that I’m learning,” she explained. “You know, I wasn’t trying to come into this and say I’m Christian Louboutin. You know this is a venture for me to express my creativity and to learn.”

Katy Perry is suing an Australian magazine that claimed she had an affair with her record producer after marrying Russell Brand.

The star launched claim today in Melbourne, Australia, just hours after arriving Down Under for the latest leg of her world tour.

Last month, the magazine NW claimed she had an 'intimate relationship' with Benny Blanco, and as a result her marriage was put in jeopardy.

Katy, 26, is now pursuing damages and aggravated damages, and reports Down Under say she could win a six-figure payout.

Katy says she does not know either person.

The magazine also said Katy was present when Blanco mixed her track California Girls, which she says is not true.

Katy, who married Russell Brand in a Hindu ceremony in India last October, says the magazine did not check the story with her and it has refused to apologise 'although it was clearly inaccurate'.

NW has not issued a response to the writ.

Katy is gearing up to kick off the latest leg of her California Dreams tour.

She touched down in Melbourne today in a £1,800 cream coloured Chanel tracksuit from the label's 2011 spring/summer collection.

It kicks off tomorrow night in Melbourne and the star is clearly thrilled at the prospect of performing for her Australian fans.

Writing on her official Twitter, she said: '#THECALIFORNIADREAM STOUR HAS OFFICIALLY LANDED IN OZ! WE SO EXCITED.'

However, she has had to leave her husband behind at their home in Los Angeles.

Katy is due to attend an official launch for her perfume and she will also perform at Sunday's Logies, Australia's TV awards ceremony, which is being held in the city.
