I feel like if they were going to have the version exclusive evolutions, it'd make sense for the fire/fighting Litten (it's totally fire/fighting) evolution to be in Sun. It'd fit better for the theme of the game if the Moon evolution was sorta like an on all fours, pantherish evolution with a fire/dark typing.

Totally not saying that because I planned on getting Moon. Not at all.
