You actually get to choose what Eeveelution you get as a starter, you can catch more than just Johto and a few Hoenn pokemon, and purification is SO much easier... I'd definitely recommend it if you can get a good price

Man that sounds like a massive improvement overall, definitely looking into that game for sure. It's sort of pricey, so I'm tempted to emulate it, but it just isn't the same.
