PALPITOAD: Did you ever hear the tragedy of Darth Sigilyph the Wise?
FENNEKIN: No.
PALPITOAD: I thought not. It's not a story the Trainers would tell you. It's a Dark-Type legend. Darth Sigilyph was a Dark Lord of the Psychic-Type, so powerful and so wise he could use his moves to influence the mart's clerks to give items... He had such a knowledge of moves that he could even keep the ones he cared about from fainting.
FENNEKIN: He could actually save people from fainting?
PALPITOAD: The dark side of the type match-up is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be unnatural.
FENNEKIN: What happened to him?
PALPITOAD: He became so powerful … the only thing he was afraid of was losing his power, which eventually, of course, he did. Unfortunately, he taught his apprentice everything he knew, then his apprentice caused him to faint in his sleep. (smiles) Sigilyph never saw it coming. It's ironic he could save others from fainting but not himself.
FENNEKIN: Is it possible to learn this power?
PALPITOAD: Not from a trainer.
These moves are a power from nature, ubiquitous and benevolent. So, if you can manipulate it to have abilities that many consider "unnatural," should it be called something else? And, should you be using it for those purposes? On the other hand, we discover at the end that Flygon, Porygon's old Master, has discovered a way to "remain" as a part of the battle after being fainted. Is this unnatural? Is this the process that Darth Sigilyph discovered? We have so many questions …
