Depends on what you want to watch. A lot of it is fluff and non-sense but sometimes I am in the mood for fluff and non-sense.

It's a cultural thing sorta like how the agoge was a cultural thing. The Pokemon regions have seemingly been doing this for generations and appear to have a ridiculous amount of generalized trust and effective national healthcare (well, at least for the Pokemon).
