My team (pending):

Blaziken
Crobat
Magneton
Crawdaunt
Altaria
Medicham

I am leaning towards keeping Crawdaunt, Magnemite, Blaziken for sure. But the ones I am slightly unsure about are Altaria, Crobat, and Medicham

Two of them are flying types, and I want to use Altaria since it I almost used it, Crobat/Zubat is also reletively early which could be a help but also I still have that typing overlap and I will have to go solo with Combusken in gym 1 probably since the earliest I could get it is the cave in Dewford. Not to mention I have used Medicham in a playthrough before in Pearl, but it had mixed results.

Any ideas? Maybe nickname ideas too?

Previous Omega Ruby Team:

Swampert
Tenacruel
Gardevoir
Shifty
Skarmory
Ninetales
Medicham is inferior to Blaziken in every way, so ditch it. Altaria takes a while to get to and can be annoying because of that, so I'd drop it in favor of Crobat. Medicham is only viable with its mega and Altaria is fairly meh without its mega, and you've already got Mega Blaziken on your side. If you're fine with using Altaria without its mega, then pick up Flygon instead since it has better stats + stab Earthquake. If you're feeling more bold, you could grab a Sandslash. I had a lot of fun in my last run with it. Eevee can be caught after you get the eighth badge (before the league), so if you're extremely patient enough to wait that long to catch a level nine Eevee and train it up, you can get an Eeveelution. I did this in my last game with Jolteon, which was easy to grind with since I left a good chunk of water routes untouched and could abuse Jolteon's high speed and special attack to squash Tentacools.

You'll have some great type coverage with the addition of Flygon and Crobat, and with grass being unneeded, I'd suggest going with a normal type for your last Pokemon. Exploud was enjoyable when I used it, though it became somewhat crappy during the Elite Four. Linoone was always fun to use, and as we all know, it's got great HM coverage if you need a slave versatile companion. Delcatty...exists. So does Zangoose, I guess. Slaking can be really scary if you hook him up with Giga Impact.

Or you could just use six Caterpies. Whatever floats your boat.

I still kinda want to keep Altaria due to me neglecting it...But maybe it could be dropped for Flygon.

Also yeah, dropping Medicham. What about...Exploud?

Exploud is a solid "okay" Pokémon. It's fun, not good.

I mean, I can get it before I challenge gym 1, so it is an earlyish game mon, plus once it gets Boomburst...

It will be the Bass Lord/Lass!

Some day I'm going to buy one of these and fly it outside my home.

Not acknowledging the superiority of Talonflame over Pidgeot makes this a 0/10.

Gale Wings nerf ended Talonflame.

I mean, in Gen 6, yeah, but now Pigeot has a Mega Evolution, Talonflame dropped in tiers, and also Staraptor is a thing:

Top 5 bird Pokemon.

Staraptor > Pidgeot (Mega) > Zapdos > Talonflame > Ho-Oh

Design being the only factor here. A lot of people like Braviary, but it's not that cool.

I have no idea what that is, but STAB fire attacks are still far superior to STAB normal attacks. Not only that, but Talonflame has better speed, which is the most important stat for a bird. There's also Will-o-Wisp, Bulk Up, and Swords Dance, all of which being useful for manipulating stats.

Top 5 bird Pokemon.

Staraptor > Pidgeot (Mega) > Zapdos > Talonflame > Ho-Oh
Mine would be Staraptor > Articuno > Archeops > Skarmory > Swellow.

I have no idea what that is,

Pretty much, Gale Wings, its hidden ability, gave priority to any flying type move. Which meant that Brave Bird Spam was a thing and it basically made that move hit first, and if you used Roost, then you healed first before you got hit. In Gen 6 it was regardless, but in Gen 7, they made it only for when it had full health, which meant it still got a powerful brave bird off the start, but after recoil, it relied on its speed normally, so a choice scarf mon could counter it with a super effective move and revenge kill it.

Finally, beat the E4 and Team Plasma in White...really enjoyed the game.

Next step for it: Post-Game and finally become the official Champion :tough:

But I may get run two of Omega Ruby started before then, idk.

EDIT: stupid image is too big. Just quote me to see it, too lazy to resize.
