Playstation 3 hard drive

Aight... firstly my PS3 did indeed quit on me quite a while ago and I've been playing my 360 ever since. But as far as the PS3 goes... first question is...

If I were to remove the hard drive from the fat PS3... could I just move that hard drive to a slim PS3 and it be aight? Like everything would crossover and it wouldn't effect the system?

Also... by doing that the hope is that I'd be able to continue to use all of my game saves and everything I bought for all my PS3 games. So yeah would everything cross over without issue and all the saves and everything work?

I believe you can use that HDD in the other kind of PS3 from what I've read but not totally sure if there is any side effects from doing that. Far the saved stuff I had to reformat my PS3 months ago and thought I would have to start all over but I just used my login info and I still had my saved data but the demo downloads I had were corrupted. I imagine it would be the same for you since using a whole new HDD is basically like reformatting.

well lack of demo downloads doesn't bother me. Just as long as the main game stuff works. Hoping it'll all work out. I'ma be lookin to get my new one real soon. tired of bein without my PS3 and seein thsoe games sittin on the shelf collectin dust.

The HDD's are the same ones that are used in most laptops. Both models should use the same.
