It isn't necessarily sweating that makes you smell bad, but rather the bacteria which accumulates as a result.
Armpits tend to be bad because they get the least amount of air circulation. Technically, if we all wore tunics we wouldn't smell nearly as bad because our skin could breathe. The same goes for having one, too many covers on the bed.

In fact, if people walked around nude we'd barely smell badly at all. Once bacteria builds, it will stay on low circulated areas or on your clothes until you decide to wash.
