I agree I don't think they need another midcard title. I get the X-Division isn't for everyone and I'll admit just the DM title existing did add to some of those feuds, but it's completely unnecessary and any replacement like a TV title would be too. You could have still done the same Hendry/Francis feud as two upper mid carders without a title involved for example, it just added a prop and "stakes" I guess

I think even the sensible thing, since they are in money saving mode anyways, is to just negotiate TNA talent get short reigns with nxt mid card titles and tags

I just feel it's a bit of a lost art to have a real hot non-title feud and a clear winner of it who's next feud is then against a champion of sorts, that logical progression lol like Santana should go for the world title next after beating Josh but I bet he has something else in between bc he probs isn't challenging Hendry yet so hopefully it's just as hot

The idea of heirarchy of titles has kind of killed that. There was no one batting an eye with guys like Sting and Luger who were mega hot holding the US Title back in the day. Neither was Savage/Steamboat presented as a lower level. Nowadays the gap between World Title and Other Titles feels more than ever and you'd get people complaining "Why is Santana going for this C-tier title, he should be monster pushed along with these other 5 guys who should be monster pushed"
