Paul Heyman is lauded by workrate fanatics due to catering to the small near non-existent niche, and by media by being a source for many dirtsheets such as Dave Meltzer.

He has proven time and time again that he cannot be in charge of writing a professional wrestling show.

Lets start with Smackdown 2002-2003

Heyman made it a work rate show, took away character and promo work, had Big Show as champion, had the Heyman Character betray Lesnar for Show nonsensically, while keeping Angle feuding with midcarders in one of the biggest demotions of all time.

And when Angle did return to main event as a heel with green as grass Brock Lesnar it didn’t draw and people walked out during the match, all for Angle to get his neck broken by the rookie the month prior.

Heyman was taken out as head writer and they corrected things by turning Brock heel.

Paul Heyman should be banned from writing any storyline and characters, he can’t and has never done it, it should be illegal to give him a pen and paper in any wrestling company.

Workrate fanatics love him because he booked in ring workers and the in ring workers had great workrate, as if Heyman was in charge of the IN ring agenting and not the storyline and characters like he actually was.

Then he failed in ECW in 2006, wanted to get rid of anyone 40 and older from TNA Nonsensicaland WWE in 2019 where he catered to a niche and showed himself out of touch.

He utterly failed in ECW, in the WWE in 2002-2003, ECW 2006, and WWE 2019.

Paul Heyman is not a genius and has never written any compelling television or character. He’s a great on screen talent and director/producer, but he should never ever write any storyline or character.

He blames Vince Mcmahon for his creative failures while at the same time claiming McMahon was this genius who filtered Russo, despite the fact that McMahon has utterly failed without Russo and Chris Kreski who continued the Russo formula, while Russo succeeded in every single company he’s been in.

It’s time to stop pretending he wrote anything of relevance, and that he’s a great writer because dirtsheets told you so, or because you’re enthralled by his on screen talent or directing of already written material from someone else.

Paul Heyman is also shown to be jealous of Vince Russo and the attitude era because Russo did adult themes and actually Drew unlike Paul Heyman with ECW, and not only drew but drew the biggest numbers in the history of wrestling.

He exposed this hatred when he cut that shoot promo taking credit for the attitude era, despite the WWF being completely different from the garbage that ECW was.

Further exposing himself when he politicked against Vince Russo, when Russo pitched a years worth of TV and has Heymans eyes lit in amazement of the great writing quality, something Heyman was never capable of, to the point that Heyman, Hayes, HHH and Stephanie known hacks who never wrote anything that drew, got rid of Russo.

That in desperation due to knowing deep down they are amateurs, trying to keep Russo at any cost by gibing him a consultant position that Russo refused.

I’ll end it with what Russo told McMahon in 2002, a saying that came true.

Vince McMahon does not have the talent in that company to turn the ship around.

And in Heyman’s case not only does he not have the creative talent to write anything that draws, but he writes stuff that drives viewers away, he’s been statistically and factually a creative anti-draw.

Im not sure if Heyman being regarded as this "genius of a writer" is a common misconception. He recently got fired as Raws head writer in replace of Prichard who obviously isn't any better. Heyman was responsible for pushing charisma vacuums like Shayna, Ricochet, Cedric Alexander etc that aren't over in the slightest.

The misconception is likely that Russo needed Vince to filter his ideas. That I can agree with. This is your life segment was the highest rated segment in WWE tv history pretty sure that was all Russo's idea if I'm not mistaken. Mankind and Rock as talents had an impact and many others but Russo had a lot of control almost too much control for HBK even though Russo made DX the success that it was.

The Russo filter mythology is from Jericho who hardly worked with him and Meltzer who had zero idea and changed his story.

It was reported in 1999 by Meltzer and Keller that McMahon would accept Russo’s scripts and wouldn’t even review them, that’s how much he trusted him.

Russo later confirmed this recently.

Vince McMahon had absolutely zero to do with creating the storyline and characters, he may have added suggestions Filtered by Russo, but that’s the extent of it.

Same with Kreski, McMahon had nothing to do with storyboards and anything he had the Rare occasional idea it was an utter failure and he’d end up stepping back from creative and let them do their own thing(ie Mae Young hand).
