Pascal Krauss vs. Adam Khaliev scrapped from UFC on FOX 10 in Chicago
The UFC’s return to Chicago continues to undergo some late changes.
A welterweight bout between Pascal Krauss (11-2 MMA, 2-2 UFC) and promotional newcomer Adam Khaliev (6-0 MMA, 0-0 UFC) has been pulled from the UFC on FOX 10 lineup.
UFC officials announced the fight’s scrapping on Saturday afternoon, saying both fighters had to pull out of the bout. No reason was given, however the UFC did say a replacement fight was being put together for the card and will be announced soon.
UFC on FOX 10 takes place Jan. 25 at United Center in Chicago. The main card airs on FOX following prelims on FOX Sports 1 and UFC Fight Pass. The Khaliev-Krauss fight was to be part of the FOX Sports 1-televised prelims.
Krauss, a product of the Duke Roufus camp in nearby Milwaukee, was looking to rebound from a knockout loss to Hyun Gyu Lim this past August at UFC 164. He started his pro career 9-0, including a win for Cage Warriors, before signing with the UFC in late 2010. He won his UFC debut against Mark Scanlon, then was on the shelf for 18 months. He returned, but dropped a decision to John Hathaway at UFC on FOX 3 before rebounding with a decision win over Mike Stumpf at UFC on FOX 6 a year ago in Chicago.
Khaliev, a Russian training partner of UFC lightweight Khabib Nurmagomedov, was looking to improve on the perfect start to his pro career in his UFC debut. His record is a perfect split of two knockouts, two submissions and a pair of decision wins, the most recent of which came this past August to make him 4-0 for the calendar year.
With the change, the current UFC on FOX 10 card includes:
MAIN CARD (FOX, 8 p.m. ET)
Benson Henderson vs. Josh Thomson
Gabriel Gonzaga vs. Stipe Miocic
Donald Cerrone vs. Adriano Martins
Darren Elkins vs. Jeremy Stephens
PRELIMINARY CARD (FOX Sports 1, 5 p.m. ET)
