This one starts in a few hours. The return of Saori Anou has been anticipated since her back injury in April. She had kept busy by attending shows and doing camera work, and now it's time to return to fighting for the villainous Seikigun. Mayumi Ozaki celebrates one of the longest active careers on the perennial show dedicated to Plum Mariko, the largest event of the year since there were no arrangements for a summer show in Yokohama.

This one's complicated so I'll explain. After Maya Yukihi won the promotion's top title at the 7/18 match, she immediately decided to vacate it and fight her stable for it again. Maybe it'll be the easiest way to officially get a v2 clinch, or she'll end up regretting the move. This begins as a 2v2 tag match. The first pinfall will not affect the match outcome, simply turning it into a handicap. Once it's down to two people, the match becomes a normal singles contest. Since everyone involved is a crooked as they come, there may be some post-match disarray.

This show serves as a major commemorative date and has a lot of interesting selections on the card. Yurika Oka and Suzu Suzuki make their first appearance for the company and several Ice Ribbon top wrestlers are also present. They've had a rough year between all the corona cancellations, injuries, questionable booking, and Yoshiko still being on the shelf since March. This show should help to restore their momentum and potentially see Arisa be on top for the second time.

8/22 WAVE Summer Wars / Yumi Ohka 20th Anniversary

After that comes the Sunday WAVE tournament which celebrates Yumi Ohka's twenty years in wrestling - not exactly, so the subtitle for the show is "Yumi Ohka 7,308 days". WAVE's fresh rookie that debuted early this year will face the ace of Ice Ribbon, and three titles are up for contest. There may be some hijinks in the triple threat calling back to the outdoor brawling at the start of the month, and the tag title match will be a must-see after the overbearing persistence of SAKI and Hikari got them in the door, quite literally.

Thoughts: Really solid opener, Ram Kaicho has to be my favorite in this match.

Thoughts: Hard hitting match, Fast paced, and enjoyable for what it was. Miyamoto has always been enjoyable.

59. AKINO & Hiroyo Matsumoto defeat Aja Kong & Rina Yamashita (15:11)

Thoughts: Pretty good match, Aja is a legend, but it's tough to watch her in the ring at this point from my perspective.
Rating: 2.5

60. OZ Academy Tag Team Title Three Way: Itsuki Aoki & Tsubasa Kuragaki (c) defeat Beast Friend (Kaori Yoneyama & Yuu) and MISSION K4 (Kakeru Sekiguchi & Sonoko Kato) (16:55)

Thoughts: These type of matches are always chaotic, but I really enjoyed this. A lot of great action. Kaori is a personal favorite of mine as well.

61. OZ Academy Openweight Title Four Way Elimination Match (vakant): Maya Yukihi defeats Mayumi Ozaki and Saori Anou and Yumi Ohka (32:59) - TITLE CHANGE !!!

Thoughts: This match was very chaotic, and when it was down to Maya Yukihi and Mayumi Ozaki it was crazy. Still there were some highlights, and it was great to see Maya win the Openweight title.
