This has been talked about many times, it's still mentioned because it was really funny and/or disgusting to some people. The so called "Icon vs. Icon" battle set on pay-per-view, August 21 at the MCI Center in Washington, D.C., a match between Hulk Hogan and Shawn Michaels was there to headline the show! It was kind of ruined from the scene as Shawn Michaels jumped around on every punch or push of Hulk Hogan and was clearly overselling the moves of Hogan.

This video combines the clips and shows us how odd the match looked with the overselling of Shawn Michaels, and the ending of this video... well, just watch it.. :disgust1:

Rumor has it that a two match series between the legends was set to take place with each person winning at least once. However, after it was planned for Hogan to win the first match, he backed out of the second citing a knee injury that was "acting up" Realizing that he was getting the short end of the deal, it is said the Shawn then got revenge by his actions in the ring by overselling on the moves of Hogan. Is this an act of revenge, or perhaps it's a classic example of a heel making a face look really, really powerful inside the ring. We may never know, but you're the one who should voice out your opinion.

I really didn't expect anything out of this match. I also thought that it was hilarious when HBK was overselling.

 nice find, I loved it. I think Shawn was pissed that he was going to lose the only match that he was going to have against Hogan. Damn, the ending was hilarious, he was flopping around everywhere because of that big boot lol

Yeah... the ending had me confused when I was watching Summerslam on PPV back in 2005, it was just a small "big" boot from Hogan and Shawn was jumping around everywhere and then he laid down in the end to get the leg drop and even when he was down he was raising his legs and hands. It looked totally over the top and Shawn was really overselling at that point... :disgust1:

He's blatantly taking the piss out of the fact that he was forced to an un-athletic orange old man... BECAUSE Hogan weasled his way out of the agreed program.

Shame of it was that Vince didn't learn from this and ended up jobbing Orton to him less than 12 months later.

Incidentally, anyone think that if it wasn't HBK or a similar 'untouchable' star, that Hogan would have somehow seen to it that they were punished big-time for their actions in this match?
