That's right folks, the time has come once again for the Hollywood elite to recognize the Hollywood elite and then endure the Hollywood elite giving speeches about how progressive the Hollywood elite are. It only comes once a year but it's always great to hear JUST how great they all are and I'm sure this year will be a GREAT one with the current political climate in the US and the [HASHTAG]#MeToo[/HASHTAG] movement in full gear. So, let's take a look at all the nominees and start placing bets on not only who the winners will be but who will give the most smarmy, self-serving speeches.

Best Director: Guillermo Del Toro (It should be Jordan Peele)

Best Actress: Frances McDormand

Best Actor: Gary Oldman (though it should be Timothee Chalamet)

Best Supporting Actor: Sam Rockwell

Best Supporting Actress: Allison Janney (It should be Laurie Metcalf)

Original Screenplay: Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri (it should be Get Out)

Adapted Screenplay: Call Me By Your Name

I might add the rest later but those are the important ones.

Give The Shape of Water & Blade Runner 2049
all the awards they are nominated for!

But if I'm being honest I've never cared for the
Oscars. I just don't see the point of Hollywood
sitting around having a circle jerk about how
good it is.

Though I agree with you on most, Blade Runner 2049 was awful in my point of view. The Shape of Water was brilliant, but not as brilliant as Get Out, Call Me By Your Name or Three Billboards.

I agree with you on the circle jerk part but I like circle jerks.

Even visually? Are you serious?

Yeah, it was no more impressive than any other special effects movie I have ever seen. I might be biased because I feel the original film was one of the most overrated movies ever, but there was nothing visually in the new one that hasn't been seen in a James Cameron film already (and I am not a James Cameron fan)

It is..but I doubt it will win anything
because at the end of the day...its a
story about a woman having sex with
a fish man.

Shape of Water will win best director. There's almost no doubt of that. Guillermo has won every single major directing award already and the academy has the same voters.

Of course you do

You like a lot of perverted things too, so be nice :p

Have not seen Call me by your name so I will add that to my recommendation list next to the godfather sequels and space Jam.

It actually takes a while to get into, but once it does, the emotion portrayed by the actors is remarkable.

Okay...maybe I'm just easily impressed...

I hope so...Guillermo is one of the best
in the World in my opinion.

You like a lot of perverted things too, so be nice :emoji_stuck_out_tongue:

I didn't say that. I was just rendering my viewpoint. You might not be easily impressed, you might just have a different viewpoint on what is impressive. What is impressive is subjective.

Glad I was wrong about original screenplay. Jordan Peele deserving as such just won it. Now if I am wrong about Director and Picture, I'll be happy.
