Orton was dropped from the film due to his military past. Quite a few people from the military and one in particular who was a member of Orton’s former marine unit came forward and spoke to the media regarding his role in the film and was angry that the wrestler was ever decided for the role in the first place since Orton received a bad conduct discharge in 1999 after going AWOL on two separate occasions. In addition to the desertion charges, he was also charged with disobeying a superior commissioned officer and was court-martialed and served 38 days in a military prison. Before Orton was scrapped from the project, Vinn told TMZ, "I am disgusted that his face and the word Marine are being used next to each other -- real or fake -- because of the fact that he quit us, the country, and the Marine Corps. [Randy] in the role of a Marine is a disgrace to those that have worn and are wearing that uniform."
I went with The Miz. He has an acting past and has personality, charisma and good speaking ability in front of a camera as we've seen MAAAANY times. Randy Orton had a better look but he's not actor material, he hasn't got great mic/speaking ability in front of a camera. He speaks very slow and his charisma isn't the best. So the only good thing he has going for him would be his look but then the film would be horrible. Who wants to watch a movie just for how the person looks?
