It was announced at tonight's WWE SmackDown live event in Detroit, Michigan that Randy Orton will be out of action for six months, meaning he will most likely miss WrestleMania 28.

WWE were offering refunds at tonight's live event to anyone who wanted them, since Orton couldn't appear.

TheDDT.com is reporting that Randy Orton's injury angle is cover for him failing a Wellness test. This would be Orton's third fail, and if WWE followed it's own policy at WWE Corporate - Substance Abuse and Drug Testing Policy then Orton should have been fired.
Holy shit, did not expect this.

I'm not going to say anything on that report, because I don't see it anywhere else. But god I'd love it just for PSYCH's reaction if they had Wade end Orton's career.

And apropos of nothing, I love this gif.

Whoa that is crazy if it's a cover up for his drug test fail. If that is the case then this really shows how much they bend their policy since in reality he should be fired for it.

I need to brush up on the Wellness Policy, but if I remember correctly he had violations before it went into effect, and that might effect how he gets treated.

Not sure cause I remember he got suspended once for 60 days instead of the 30 guys usually get.

So that article has been pulled from the LOP website and I also that the DDT site was a forum you had to register on to see the boards, attempts at gaining traffic?

Went ape on a hotel room and other stuff yeah, before the policy. He may get rehab if it is true, because im not sure how his strikes add up, who knows

Or WWE forced them to remove it or something? Unsure but they're douches if they captialized off the situation like that.

They have a right to say it if it is true, freedom of the press.

The ending to Smackdown for this Friday was dictated by Randy Orton's back issues. The injury was something Orton had been dealing with in recent weeks, so his match with Wade Barrett was company's way of writing the injury into the storylines.

While we do not have any update on the severity of the injury at this time, I want to note that an inaccurate report is floating around citing PWInsider.com as reporting Orton would miss Wrestlemania due to a slipped disc. Nothing of the sort was written or stated on either the free or Elite versions of PWInsider.com. Whoever published that report is stating an absolute lie, so remember that when you decide what outlets are legitimate and worth your time.
I know this is nothing new but the fact that people were flasley crediting PWInsider for something definitley makes me believe this wellness stuff is bullshit for the reasons I listed in my last post, also PWI or the Observer would have picked up on the story by now if he had been suspended or at least put something out there regarding it.

WWE.com has released details concerning Randy Orton's condition following an injury he suffered at Tuesday's SmackDown taping, including how long The Viper could be sidelined.

Although the full extent of his injury remains to be seen, WWE physician Dr. Michael Sampson examined Orton and updated WWE.com about his condition.

"Randy suffered a herniated disc on the L4-L5 level on the left side, and that’s resulting in pain and weakness down his leg." Sampson explained. "He's going to need some time off for rehab, anti-inflammatory medications and physical therapy."

WWE.com adds that the injury could keep him sidelined for a few weeks.

Sheamus will replace Orton in Street Fights against Wade Barrett at WWE live events this week.
Possibly a work so he returns at the Rumble as a surprise entrant / winner in his hometown?

I hope not simply because he doesn't need the rumble win anymore. I know it is inevitable for him to get back in the world title picture obvious just don't think that is the way to do it. I do think it'd be good if he returned at the rumble and almost won it but someone like Dolph for example prevailed.

As long as he is gone for a while, I'm happy. I'm tired of seeing him being the big guy in Smackdown, make room for SHEAMUS!

I'm being serious if this is a work to make him win the Rumble I will consider taking a long break from the WWE. He does not need the Rumble, he's over enough already and if he won it it would be a total WASTE. WWE has really handled the whole situation awfully tbh.
