Orton Experiences?

Hi. Just out of curiosity, has anyone here ever met our extreme heel of a champion? If so what was your impression of him?

I haven't, but I imagine he'd be the opposde of how he is on TV.

Nope, but I've heard that until around a year ago he wasn't much different out of the ring..lol.
He definately seems like a cool guy to meet and pick his brain. Judging by some of the interviews I've heard from him he definately has a plethora of opinions on how the business is run and the people in it.

I h ave heard that he is somewhat of a prick outside of the ring...but I think "prick" is just a way to say "opinionated" in backstage jargon.

lol, go on youtube and look up the videos of him bumming cigarettes off fans outside of shows. In one he takes like half of the kid's pack.

I've seen him outside the ring, and running the risk of sounding like I'm crushing on him (I'm not), he is a real true sweetheart. That is, when he's not extremely tired and being mobbed by psychotic fangirls who want his babies. I've seen him stop to sign autographs for little children. Some of the faces won't stop, even if people aren't acting loco, or even just to further their character. Yet Randy breaks his character for fans all the time. I think he seems to be a wonderful person. I have not had the opportunity to meet him formally however, so that's why I asked this question. All of my information comes from things I have personally witnessed though.

To touch on the subject of him being more like his character a few years ago, you're half right. He wasnt nearly as bad as "The Viper," but there were some issues. But lest we forget Randy is extremely young to begin with and years ago he was what, 24-25? My cousin is that age and he does a bunch of stupid stuff like that too. Boys will be boys. A lot of people calm down a bit when they get married and have a child. It's why they call it "settling down."

I do wish him continued success in the ring and continued happiness with his family.

I heard one story that while on a tour in Europe or something the WWE were visiting a hospital for terminally ill kids and when it was time to go do an autograph signing Orton refused to leave and stayed there the whole day. This was only a few months back.

^He was hanging out with a group of kids, particularly not even a year old yet. Having his baby has really opened his eyes and given him a new respect for other people.

I've always heard he was cool in real life, but that he can be a bit of a dick if he's being swarmed. Being a heel though, I think he does try his hardest not to break character, and you have to imagine he'd be a real busy individual, so it's understandable of him to kind blow off leaches. Haven't had the opportunity to meet him myself, but my friend chilled at an autograph signing and said Orton has indepth convos with fans and shit, and likes to be active with security at events and give his praise to everyone for participating, and he'll chill with people in the parking lot and smoke cigarettes with 'em.

Yeah, I've heard if you bring up music to him or give him a cigarette he'll chew your fuckin ear off. A good friend of mine works for Nassau Collisseum so he gets to meet all the guys every time they come around. That's what he told me about Orton.

I think that having a father who was also in the buisness I think he has learned the proper way to act around the fans and general public. I don't know of any parituclar stories of him hanging out with fans and stuff outside of arenas but if its true that is really cool. It makes him seem really down to earth and well human.

I really have a lot of respect for him. I'm an artist and I did a professional piece in pastel a while back for him and I'm about to start on another so when they're done I'm going to give them to him in person. I hope he enjoys them.

Got the other in the PM, I promise you I wouldn't steal your artwork. Fear not bro, I'm a fellow artist myself and think art is something that should be displayed and shared, no matter how "good" or "bad" anyone would label it. The only bad art is no art .


Anyways, just checked out the other piece, definitely talented. Good shading, etc. Would like to see the finished result as well, perhaps when you hand it to him.

Looking forward to see what you can do with this one, and how much detail you'll put into the ink-work. Looks like it should be a fun piece to work on.

Thanks man. The Do Not Steal on the watermark wasn't directed towards you. It's a generic statement that I put on all of my watermarks. So please don't think I meant anything bad towards you by it.

This one I absolutely fell in love with the second I saw it. It's got amazing composition and I love the angle of the ropes at the bottom. I will be going very detailed. As detailed as I can go with Pastel. I can't wait to start it.
