These two orphaned sloths are enjoying a very pampered, albeit unorthodox, treatment to beat a potentially deadly form of mange.
In a documentary filmed by Animal Planet, Costa Rica-based sloth sanctuary owner Judy Avey-Arroyo shows how she rids the sloths of the parasite-related illness before wrapping them up in a fabric that resembles pyjamas.
The twin sloths are shaved using an electric clipper before being covered in a mix of sulfur and lard to kill the parasitic mites and soothe the bitten skin.
The baby animals are then swaddled in bandages to stop them trying to eat the lard, before being wrapped in the pyjama-like material to keep them warm.
Orphaned baby sloths are especially prone to disease because they lack the antibodies provided by their mother's milk.
Mrs Avey-Arroyo and his husband Luis have run a sloth orphanage in the Central American nation since 1997.
