So, allow me to introduce you to what is looking to be the next big interesting wrestling project out of the east. Oriental Wrestling Entertainment (OWE).
OWE is a newly started wrestling company based in Shanghai. The Chinese wrestling scene is very young but growing and the people behind OWE are easily the most financially powerful promoters in the region. They are borrowing heavily from Idol culture as well as tropes from both American wrestling and the Japanese company Dragon Gate. In fact the company has some form of working relation with Dragon Gate (the has been some form of upheaval within Dragon Gate proper and the company has split int two parts, with one of them now handling OWE. This has led to CIMA and a couple of other Dragon Gate wrestlers having moved over to train these guys and they are now based out of Shanghai as well).
They also have a working relationship with Future Stars of Wrestling out of Las Vegas and you can watch their debut show on the Future Stars Twitch channel, with more OWE shows scheduled to air.
Oh, and the entire first class of students are fucking Shaolin performers so the athletic stuff is off the charts.
