Omega stays in Japan

As noted yesterday, Kenny Omega revealed to the Wrestling Observer Radio that he will be staying with New Japan Pro Wrestling and will not be appearing at Sunday’s Royal Rumble pay-per-view.

Seen below in the latest episode of The Elite, Kenny sent a message to The Young Bucks about staying with New Japan.

“I won’t be going anywhere but New Japan,” Omega said. “I’m going to stay with the company that was good to me. I’m going to stay with The Elite, more importantly. 2016 was a big year, we can make 2017 bigger and better. We can only do it together. So us splitting apart, I don’t see it in the cards, not this year.


“You’re going to be seeing more of the Elite as a trio tandem on TV, on the Internet, live in-person more and more and more than you could have ever imagined in 2017. Stay tuned.”

Both disappointed and happy. I'm disappointed that we won't see Kenny Omega regularly make appearances on American TV, while also happy that New Japan wasn't cucked out of their biggest English-speaking star ahead of their biggest American shows with the G1 Specials heading to LA, the Dojo opening, and their overall expansion into the States.

New Japan needs him more than WWE does, right now. Not saying that WWE wouldn't utalize him properly because after Styles, that's a hard thing to call. Just think that if WWE is truly aching for star power, they have people to bump up. They don't need to pluck top talent from NJPW and hope they stick. Granted WWE lives off of plucking up other talent, but that's besides the point.

I just want Joe dammit. I swear if the Rumble is used for Balor's SHOCKING CENA-ESQUE RETURN I'ma rage. Piece of demon CRAP.
