What the hell happened in this thread? :crayo:

Let me explain. No...is too much. Let me sum up.

Gohan is of the belief that the DVD of the History of the Wold Championship, produced by WWE, is the only true and correct source of the history of the World Championship, which he claims to be the exact same title that had been proclaimed as the NWA, WCW, and WWE World Championships.

Others, myself included, have contended that the modern-day WWE World Heavyweight Championship is a "descendant" (if you will) of the World Championship contested in the video in the OP. Rather than just using one source, we have used multiple sources that suggest this version of the historical record is the correct one.

Being faced with superior (in both quality and number) sources, Gohan dug in his heels and started telling us all that we're dumbasses, that he's right, that we're wrong, that we're fucking Blue (my translation), that we're trolls, that we should shut the fuck up, and that he's going to tell Crayo about how evil, vile, and disgusting we all are (again, my translation).

Have I missed anything?

Yes, he did say that. Jim Ross, employed by the WWE, put over a WWE "World Championship" as the most important world title (or one of the two most important with the WWE Championship) in professional wrestling. And, if you ask my mother, I'm still the best pitcher in baseball history and the best offensive lineman in football history. I disagree, but if Mom says it, it must be true, right?

Which does not answer your mistaken contention that there is a true unbroken and direct lineage between the World Championship defended in the OP's video and that WWE World Heavyweight Championship, nor does it answer your similarly-mistaken contention that, somehow, the WWE World Heavyweight Championship has some greater currency than the NWA World Heavyweight Championship, or that the WWE somehow owns the lineage to the NWA World Heavyweight Championship because it bought the WCW, which had been affiliated with the NWA, said relationship having ended prior to the purchase of the WCW by the WWE.

So, no, sir. I did not miss the "fact" that you were right. Because, while you may have been right about one particular detail among all the assertions you have made in this thread, there are a multitude of other contentions that you have made that were incorrect. And, when corrected with facts that are supported by multiple, unbiased sources, you have seen fit to deride and defile the people who tried to bring said facts into the conversation. And don't get me started on your defense of "I'm telling Crayo on you". How old are you again? 9?

Grow up. Come back and talk to me when you can reason like an adult, or at least somebody over the age of 12.

The title histories over on WWE.com are the closest thing we have to "official record books", and they list the World Heavyweight Championship as being different from the NWA/WCW World Heavyweight Championship. That's pretty much all there is to it. Plus, as I'm not mistaken, they mentioned last year during the botched unification angle that the World Heavyweight Championship as we know it today has only been around for the past 11 years. That and a few other sources should pretty much lay this 'debate' to rest.
