For one, i'm not a jackass who doesn't know shit about the old ECW. i get what you're trying to say, and i don't exactly like the new ECW more than the old ECW, but lets face reality that the old ECW is DEAD!!! It'll never come back and Vince will never let this new ECW become the old one where all matches are extreme rules and they use real thumbtacks and all that shit. So you should accept the fact that Vince can do whatever he wants to the ECW we all know. Its like politics really, you hate the guy in charge but you don't have any choice

^^^ All right man no offence. vince did it for the money simple as that. WWECW would bring in more money as a third show than say WWE: velocity upgraded. So yeah, he had the rights to the name, and he made use of it nothing wrong with that. And it did give Sandman a new lease of life didn't it?

I wouldn't say that ECW was killed as a whole. If anything the old ECW died out long ago. It had a great run giving us momerable stars, cool matches, legendary feuds and the like, but its long gone. The new version (WWE's ECW) is okay....in my book. I'd say that the ECW originals are doing a good job in helping the younger talent shine and help flesh out their talents so I really don't see anything wrong it.....at least not yet, anyways.

Vince has succeeded he has killed ECW. This has become rubbish. Intentionally it wasn't meant to be a Extreme Show. Vince just wanted more people to be interested in the WWE by bringing bavk ECW for the old school fans. It was meant to be a C Show I think. ECW is where people get pushes like Lashley came from SD US Title picture to ECW World Title so it is a push imo

The Old ECW went out of business you jackass. Not to mention are you about 1 year late on this thread. Vince was Funding ECW during the 90's. How is Vince an asshole, by bringing ECW back. Sure the new ECW is nothing like the original, but at least he had the balls to bring it back.

Its his money, he can do whatever he wants with it. The new ecw aint that bad. Sure they got some losers like the guys you mentioned, but you forgot the other half of the roster. (Beniot, Punk, Corvon, Burke, Nitro)

If you want the old ecw, you are better off just watching the indys, and making less threads about this.

The WWE have clearly stated that ECW was going to be a developing place for people to get over (Lashley, Punk, Burke, Nitro...)

As for calling it ECW, this is a smart business stragety. Using the name and former personnel instantly gave it a bit of exposure. Yes you can wine and complain that it's nothing like the old ECW, but did any1 say it was going to be !

I enjoy watching it myself & want to see the brand succeed because i'm a WRESTLING fan! If youre compaining about not enough extreme rules, go watch some crappy CZW Death match or sumfing wich has no Wrestling Phsycolagy at all!

Overall WWE are succeeding at the moment because it get's fairly good ratings (better than iMPACT!), it brings in money & it develops guys like Punk & Burke to the next level. So please stop being one of those dumbass ECW fans who keep on complaining about it. (If u dont like it, dont watch it ! simple AS !)

Exactly as Montana said I'm sure if Vince had hired Vince Russo or kept Bischoff he could have brought back WCW it wouldn't have been as succesful as ECW is now but he could have done it and people would watch it because it has the name WCW.

Its just a name, and anyone with any semblance of knowledge of wrestling history knows the difference between the two and that neither would ever resemble the other.

Just because its not what you wanted out of the product doesn't necessarily mean its no good. Now ECW isn't great by any stretch of the imagination, but you know what? Its just as good as TNA for the most part, and at least on ECW they know how to edit a broadcast and place the commercials in teh right places so that a 7 minute match isn't interrupted by a fucking commercial break.

Meh...no reason explaining this but you just don't understand. If Vince brought ECW back he should have brought WCW back as well. He has the money doesn't he? He should have "WCW Originals" and they should job to 2nd class wrestlers and rise up WWE New Talent.

If anything he should have just kept doing the One Night Stands. That would have been a lot more better than bringing back the whole ECW and turning it into a "brand".

When these kids and such who never watched the past ECW see this, they are going to think that guys like these made ECW. I mean we didn't have 1 person who worked in the ECW circa the 90's become an ECW Champion. But you Montana wouldn't understand I guess if it hit you upside the head of how he has completely made the former ECW Wrestlers look like they were just second rate, and did shit for the company.

Think for a second (if you can...) about this paragraph. This is why Vince is smarter than you. He knows ECW would make more money and have a much larger fanbase than if he brought WCW back, it's just common sense if you'd think. WCW would do absolute shit then what ECW has done for him so far. And for one, there isn't even enough known WCW guys on the roster to make the damn brand. Second off, ECW has more and better wrestling then probably both RAW and Smackdown and is continuing to improve. If I was them I would just almost make it pure wrestling and send more good wrestlers there. I had an Idea before for them to have New Breed vs. Originals match and if New Breed won they change the name of the show =p. Although, that would be hard to do business/broadcasting wise, but they could just act like the name of the show is changed to "New Breed" or something. But, the point is ECW is making money, WCW wouldn't, it's not the old ECW, but it still has very good wrestling so it's not really disrespecting anyone (all the old ECW originals are complete crap in the ring compared to Punk, Cor von, Burke, and Benoit (Yes, I know he is an ECW original) is better than all of the previous 4 originals that were on the roster.)
