Since TNA's DVDs are starting to get better, I thought it would be cool to start a thread so you guys can talk about your TNA DVD collection, upcoming DVD releases, and more.

I'll post my review of TNA's Ultimate Matches DVD shortly

Has anyone bought a post yard sale. What that is, is 5 dvds for 30 bucks. Like a grab bag. Just curious to see what shows i might get.

(Edit: Well, i bought 2 sets....cause it was free shippin over 40. So ill be getting 10 dvds in soon, kinda odd becuase im not the biggest TNA fan. But i figure, for 6 bucks its a pretty good deal. Im a sucker for mystery grab bags)

Just finished the first half of the Kurt Angle: Champion DVD and damn its been good. I loved the part where Kurt talks about Vinnie Mac, that was interesting. All the matches they've shown so far have been great too. Samoa Joe is in all of them so far, so thats a plus lol.

I'll watch Part 2 tomorrow.

Well, with the mini break I've had, i got a chance to catch up on some of these DVDs i got.

Best of the X-Divison
Today i watched the best of the X-Division with most of the matches from 2004-2005. This was quite a impressive lineup of matches. If your a fan of Styles/Daniels/C. Sabin you are really going to like this dvd. A couple Ultimate X matches, some elimination matches, cage match, and a battle royal. So you get something a little different each match. I guess what i liked most about the DVD is how the AJ Styles and Christopher Daniels fued heated up. I checked Meltzer ratings and the Daniels/Styles Iron man match got 4.75 stars. THere were a few other 4+ star matches. About 11 matches on this double disc, and a jerry lynn interview. Def. a good buy.

Best of teh Bloodiest Brawls
I watches this a couple months ago, so i won't be able to give a great review, but this was another good collection of matches. Cage matches, Last rites, Texas Death Match, No DQ, and a barb wire massacre made this show live up to its name. Also what i liked about this dvd was the fact it wasn't all brawling. You also had Joe vs Angle, and a other matches that were not only hardcore, but some good wrestling as well. I'd say about 6 of the 9 matches were at or close to 4 stars. So they did a solid job of picking out matches.

Lockdown 2006

In TNA's second Lockdown PPV headlined by the NWA Championship match Christian vs Abyss; TNA put on a solid ppv effort. First thing that caught my eye on this show was Samoa Joe vs Sabu, as I am a big Sabu fan, as was a fan of Joe in 2006. Starts of with a good opener in a World Cup preview match. Next up was the return of senshi to challenge his former partner Christopher Daniels. Great match here, probably match of the night. Everything was pretty solid from there on out. Joe vs Sabu fell short, as the match only went 6 minutes. (a good 6 minutes) Cage and Abyss only went 14 minutes, but a good 14 minutes. So for a PPV rating I'd give a 7.5/10

The Best of AJ Styles

This is the best, from one of the best american wrestlers around today. It's a double disc dvd so its a little repetitive, but its all great matches. Lots of 4 stars matches. AJ takes on Jerry Lynn, Low ki, X-Pac, Amazing Red, Jarrett, D-Lo, Abyss in a different series of matches. I think what could make this dvd better, a little bit more into the character of AJ Styles and his rise to fame. AJ did some commentary, although you don't get the life story like you normally get with WWE dvds. None the less, 12 incredible matches from 2002-2005.

Final Resolution 2008

From a PPV perspective, paying 30 bucks to see this live, it will make you question your purchase. But if you are live in attendence, or buy the dvd for cheap later on you can appreciate the show a little bit more. Starts off with a solid opener with LAX vs Rock N Rave. Has a few ok matches thrown in, and a great womens match between Kong and Kim. Then the surprise match of the night was the ultimate X match which pitted MCMG + Jay Lethal vs. 3D with Johnny Devine. This match was fun and entertaining, and had some good spots in it. The tag match between AJ/Tomko vs. Joe/Nash was alright, and the main event with Christian and angle was really good, until the ending. 6.5/10

Slammiversary 2008

With one of the most impressive cards on paper for 2008, Slammiversary almost lived up to the hype. Kaz/Petey Williams had a great opener. They really went all out. A little too much womens matches and backstage promos mixed in here with this show. The Wedding was ehhh. LAX vs. 3D was ok. AJ vs Angle was very good and the King of the mountain was good ladder match. Really this was like a 3 match show. Entertaining none the less.
7/10

A little side note:

TNA is having a sale on complete 2006 and 2007 sets on their PPV's on DVD.

For 70$ (less than 6$ a DVD) you can get every ppv from 06 or 07. Plus a Autograph of Jarrett/Angle and a TNA shirt. Plus its free shipping as well.

I'm considering 2006...that's a pretty good deal.

Or

The Best of Samoa Joe DVD is on Ebay for 5$ new with Free shipping, but it takes 2-3 weeks to ship.

Genesis 2009

1 6 Man tag **1/2

it was decent for a random.. some nice stuff here and there but thats it...

2. Shelley Vs sabin ****

really great match.. But i am :smh at that ending, pby one of the worst ending to a match that is so good and fluent..

3. sewell Vs sheik 1/2*

utter Crap, i advise noone to watch that.. damn TNA for this..

4. abyss/morgan Vs BMI vs creed/lethal **1/2

I expected to Be **, but it prove me wrong nice lil match.. Pby would of excell more if it was BMI vs creed/lethal... decent title match

5. ODB/roxxi/taylor Vs Kongtourage 1/2*

This match was shorter than sewell/sheik But fuck did it suck still.. so far nearlly 20 mins of 1/2* on PPV getting close to WCW there :).. rhaka Khan reminds me of a dirty pornstar from bangbros.. Someone train her atleast...

6. Angle Vs jarrett ****

I enjoyed this match much much more than BFG, This really should of been the main event for the ppv.. Great Match.. Pby Jeff Jarrett best match since HBK Vs Jarrett 95 or Jarrett vs Benoit s/cade 99..

7. Sting Vs rhino *1/2

a 8 min world title match on PPV.. I mean come on.. WWE do that on TV shows for free.. Sting is very very slow in this match, i am not sure if his knee are badly out of shape.. Well rhino is just rhino.. This was never going be a good match even if the 2 were 5-10 yrs younger...

8. MEM/KIp vs AJ/foley/devon **

pretty sloppy 6 man tag, Foley didnt do too much, but i expected that.. cause it's TNA. legends don't go all out unless they are working for WWE.. Aj styles look like in great form on the night but it's hard for him to work a nice match with 5 wrestlers not in the prime anymore...

Overall 43%

(this ppv is pretty much tells you the state of TNA.. The high's and Low's... i would advisetise you to d/l the x title match and angle/jarrett)...
