For good comparison the last match they built like this was Dave vs Cena

You mean that match that was set up a month in advance when Batista got an impromptu match with Cena for the title and beat him? And then got intentionally DQed and beat Cena down again the next night? And then cut promos talking about their history with each other, not just talking about a streak and his legacy over and over again? Yeah, that was totally the same.
