Speaking of Bateman

Source: PWInsider.com

UPDATE: Derrick Bateman went through successful knee surgery today for a minor issue that needed to be taken care of. Assuming everything heals right, he'll be cleared to return in two to four weeks.

Season four NXT rookie Derrick Bateman posted the following on his twitter…
Heading to Birmingham to get my knee scoped. "It ain't ballet."

There is 3 different rumors going around right now for NXT Season 5.

1. Legends with their sons as Pros.
2. Second chance NXT with past rookies returning (Titus, Lucky, Young, Saxton, and O'Brian)
3. Something with mixed teams with guys and girls (I have no idea what this would be as thats all it says. My guesses are either Divas mentoring Superstar hopefuls or Superstars mentoring Diva hopefuls or Mixed Tag Teams)

SEASON 5 LINEUP SPOILERS

- The official name for season 5 of WWE NXT on their website is NXT: Redemption. The show will have Todd Grisham and William Regal doing announcing while Matt Striker and Maryse will be the hosts.

There will be no immunity this season.

As noted before, the Rookies are previous WWE NXT participants from past seasons. This season's roster looks like this:

* Darren Young and Chavo Guerrero
* Conor O'Brian and Vladimir Kozlov
* Lucky Cannon and Tyson Kidd
* Byron Saxton and Yoshi Tatsu
* Jacob Novak and JTG
* Titus O'Neill and Hornswoggle

--------------

I'm gonna watch out of how hilariously bad this is going to be. Quite possibly the worst looking NXT ever.

What a failure of a season. A raw superstar, 4 uncharismatic talentless hacks, and an annoying ex-announcer. Wow, sure got me tuning in each week.

I hate that I was somewhat entertained by this show. Chavo did a great job of getting the fans behind Darren Young. Lucky Cannon went from being a generic face to whatever the hell he is now with the robe and pink trunks, either way he still SUCKS.

Interesting notes about the contestants from this season.

Darren Young was removed from the Raw Roster to be put on this season.

Lucky Cannon is the current FCW World Champion.

Titus O'Neil is on half of the current FCW Tag Team Champions with Damien Sandow who some of you might remember as Idol Stevens, one half of the Teachers Pets back in 2006 with KC James and Michelle McCool as their valet.

The other 3 guys are all from Season 4.

I don't find it right that 3 guys are from Season 4 and Darren Young lost his roster spot for this.

They could have put on Michael Tarver who has been injured and working FCW anyways, Eli Cottonwood, Percy Watson, or Alex Riley who had been 'fired' the week before.

Or they could have just not done this Redemption thing at all.

With all that being said. The first show actually wasn't bad. Not saying it was good but I was entertained by it in small doses.
