Just realized... Anyone think WWE wrote this Johnny Ace/Big Show script for Punk instead of Cena? Would have made a lot more sense that way, right now it feels like the Punk/Ace storyline from last year where there were just so many missing pieces from when they panicked and changed the storyline on the fly. Punk wasn't drawing, so instead of Cena taking the vacation he said he would, he got shoe-horned into this random Johhny Ace storyline... Anyone else feel that way?

Most of us on the forum were bummed out when we found out that tonight’s WWE title match was going to be a triple threat between Bryan, Punk and Kane. With most of us on here being Smarks we highly enjoyed Punk and Bryans match at Over the limit and was hoping for another one. Our natural reaction when we heard that Kane, a veteran who isn’t able to perform all the moves he used to, was added to the match was :annoyed:
Make no mistake though. The WWE title match tonight can still be a damn good one. There are many factors and this one, compared to the one from OTL has some nice build leading into it, some that even dates back to before OTL. Punk and Bryan has angered Kane who is now stuck in-between the machinations of the devious, bearded Machiavelli known as Daniel Bryan and the former voice of the voiceless, now protectors of insane women CM Punk who takes what Bryan is dishing out at him. Kane is stuck in-between and annoyed at both. And then, there’s AJ. The slightly of her rocker diva that seems to have romantic feelings with both Punk and Kane and previous romantic entanglement with Bryan. What follows here is an analysis made by me of why this match will be interesting to watch.
Technical wrestling
Bryan and Punk are great and really damn good wrestlers respectively. Bryan being touted as the best in the world by critics, journalists, smarks and even CM Punk himself can make anyone and anything look good in the ring. Punk being a masterful ring technician himself only helps this match. These two guys know each other well in the ring and bring out the best in each other. Both being of the old indie school of outselling the opponents’ moves so be prepared to see moves that look like they hurt like hell. These guys have delivered four and five stars matches in the past, the exchange between the two tonight will most likely be of the same caliber and we can count on future matches between the two also being great. Kane being one of the better men of his size and of his age in the ring doesn’t bring this match down as much as people seems to have thought at first glance. This match also brings prestige back to the WWE title since it’s been damn long ago since someone have gone directly from competing for the WHC to competing for the WWE championship. Most WHC champs and contenders have stopped there, finding it enough. Bryan went right for the top price though.
Bringing in the casuals
As for why Kane is in there, it is quite simple. Kane is a well-known name among wrestling fans, kids are afraid of him or think him cool because of his gimmick and adults know of him from his old feuds in the 90’s and 00’s as well as their own memories of him as kids. Kane is there to bring in the casuals and help build interests among them for Bryan and Punk. The chance of Kane winning is very small, he is there to be pinned (most likely by Bryan if you ask me) to allow Punk to still look strong and build up that rivalry some more. Kane has done this before, I remember a triple threat from the early 00’s were Kane was used for just this reason.
Appealing to the female fans
And then we have AJ. By the title of this part I mean female wrestling fans, not fans of female wrestling. Female fans enjoy seeing female characters in prominent roles and AJ is currently the most prominent diva on the entire roster and she has been since Bryan won the WHC, the only competition for her being Eve but she hasn’t been seen in a while now. AJ having such a prominent role in the feud as the X factor will not only catch the attention of male fans interested in the story or just seeing the pretty girl. But the attention from female fans seeing a woman play an important part in the main event focused on the most important price in pro wrestling.
These are my thoughts on why the WWE title match tonight will still be a good match. Or they could just be my own personal.....
