I can't imagine him not being the next in line at this point.
I've heard Dos Anjos wants to wait until November to fight for some reason. Cowboy may not want to wait that long

Khabib has a good argument for the next shot as well.

I didn't even see this article came out earlier but apparently Dana confirmed Cerrone vs dos Anjos.. Khabib is hurt pretty bad I thought and that's why he had to pull out before 187? And then Dos Anjos I think will end up being back from the injury that he avoided surgery with until September.
UFC president Dana White told ESPN.com that Cerrone will be Rafael dos Anjos' next challenger for the lightweight title. Dos Anjos (24-7) lifted the 155-pound title from Anthony Pettis in a unanimous round win in March. Dos Anjos suffered a knee injury prior to the fight but has avoided surgery and is expected back in the fall.

Props to DC for taking all those bombs from Rumble & barely flinching (with the exception of that huge knockdown in the first). It's a shame Rumble gassed out so quickly though. If he had come in better shape, that fight could've been truly epic. We shouldn't discount that DC is an absolute master at grinding dudes into the ground and sapping their energy. And I enjoyed DC calling out Jones... in theory. Would've made more sense if Bones hadn't already big brother'd Cormier when he didn't have his shit together. "Jon Jones, get your shit together, I'm waiting... for you to really fuck my shit up!"

Very enjoyable show. Was so happy to see The Chris pound that stupid mohawk mullet into the canvas. Looking forward to Weidman vs Rockhold or Jacare next.

That headkick Cerrone broke Makdessi's jaw with... just brutal.

I really hope Jacaré gets the shot. He is the one guy I think is better then weidman both on his feet and on the ground, even though the latter is debatable. But weidman surely never fought someone so strong and well-versed in submissions like jacaré, I'm curious as to if and how weidman is going to manage to do his usual grappling and grinding on this guy.

Jacare is definitely not better than The Chris on the feet. Grappling wise maybe, but I doubt he could do much on his back. Chris probably decides to keep it standing and knocks him out

I wouldn't write him off like that, lol. Jacaré has a body type that's really unconfortable for grapplers and submission specialists, he have a really sound jiu jitsu(and that's putting it mildly, his stunts with submissions are vast) and has relied on brute strength to get an edge on mud-fights.

IMO Jacaré is the brazillian fighter that has the best shot at taking the belt.

I just can't see him getting the fight to the ground or outstriking Weidman.

UFC President Dana White revealed on tonight’s edition of FOX Sports 1’s “UFC Tonight” that Cormier’s (16-1 MMA, 5-1 UFC) first 205-pound title defense could come against Alexander Gustafsson (16-3 MMA, 8-3 UFC).
“We’re actually looking at possibly Alexander Gustafsson,” White said.

Can't say I'd be upset about this.

And apparently Rashad Evans wants Bader for his return in September.

LHW is so top heavy... there are only 4 viable contenders IMO. One is suspended. One is champ. One just lost to the champ. Other is Gus, so yea, it is the only fight that makes sense IMO. Bader trying to talk his way into a title shot against DC was hilarious. He is a can and the fact that he is rated so highly just speaks to the lack of depth in the division. Rashad is probably the 5th best LHW right now in the company, which again, just speaks to the lack of depth.

I don't think Gus has anything for DC though. DC by ragdolling

As much as I am an absolute Gus mark, I agree with you on the DC front.

DC is such a bad dude, as bad as I thought he was heading into the Jones fight...

..but that just puts it into perspective how fucking amazing Jones is, because he handled DC like child's play, and it wasn't because of any fault to DC... Jones is just that talented. I hate the situation he has put himself in... as much as I hate the man, good god... that talent.

188 was a pretty good PPV.

Hill vs Torres was the least entertaining match, skipped the third round because nothing happened in the first two.

Cain looked terrible.

Media For CM Punk Possibly Pushing Back UFC Fight

- FOX Sports also posted an article about Punk appearing on the Anik and Florian podcast and talking about possibly delaying his UFC debut, that we mentioned earlier this week.

"I'm learning a lot every day. I hear people saying training for a fight is harder than the actual fight," Punk said. "If that's true, then once I step in the Octagon, I will have no problem whatsoever. ... I know Duke has told me, and I think he's been public with it, that he would like me for a full 12 months before he'd sign off on me fighting.

"I think a lot of people are antsy. There's people on Twitter saying, 'Oh, you're never gonna fight.' This was just announced in what, November, December? I've been training full time for like six months. As bad as I have the itch to get in there, I want to be as prepared as possible. I wouldn't be upset if it got pushed to 2016."

Not surprised at all.

Watched Bellator 138 today. I liked it. First MMA event I've watched in full in like forever. I never really make it through a full UFC car, but I had not problem with this one. Definitely inclined to watch next weeks card and give Bellator a shot.

Standout for me was Michael Chandler.
