I too think Villa will improve on last season. Plus, they've kept their key player in Christian Benteke and got him to sign a new deal. Lambert's done his business early which is a good thing.

Barca have come out and said we've given up hope of signing Fabregas, so if that's the case, i'd like to see us go after Christian Erikkson from Ajax.

My only concern for us is that we have not signed any experienced players which is something we suffered from last season. Losing Petrov was a blow as he is just the sort of player Villa need right now. I still think there is enough there for a tenth place finish though.

Fabregas would be a great signing for Utd, midfeld is your weakest department right now and he is a world class player in the prime of his career.

As for Arsenal well if they did sign the players Cork predicted then they might well be title contenders, but that is a very big if right now.

When we sign Suarez, Fabregas, Fellaini and Cesar, we will look like title contenders on paper.

Not a chance that Wenger is spending close to £100m.

Im still quite perplexed that Wegner hasn't even really looked at signing any other players but Suarez. Seems like we are very resilient to selling him and well considering Arsenal just edged out Spurs to 4th last season (not to mention Spurs have gone out and improved their squad) he really should be going for some more guys. Why not take a shot at Rooney? Seems like Man U would be willing to sell him for less than what we are selling Suarez for after all

Well that would be the most amazing transfer of the summer if Rooney signed for Liverpool! Its like a double WTF! Firstly he plays for a club who has a bitter rivalry with Liverpool and second as a boy he supported their local rivals!

Think Cesar is a realistic target for Arsenal as he doesn't want to be playing in the championship and does favour staying in London if reports are to be belived.

You really want that guy? Sure he did a lot of goals for us but look at the baggage dude, you really think him being at Arsenal with Wenger is going to change all that? He done it at Ajax when Liverpool was interested.

Imo, Wenger has been making it look like he's trying to buy big but not really chasing it up too much. Fellaini probs will go to UTD if they get their act together and actually make an offer for him.

Atm Arsenal as big of a contender as Liverpool and Spurs.

He's the best striker in the prem, or at least on par with RVP.

I honestly don't give a shit if he wears Klan hoods off the pitch as long as he stays awesome on it. Needs to stop the crazy spazzouts like biting and shit though, we actually need him not to be banned for half the season.

Also we are not equal with Spurs and never have been. They play their afternoon games with floodlights because they are in our shadow.

Liverpool are a non factor, mid table team whos best player is coming to us.

We've been linked with him all summer, could see Man Utd selling to us rather than Chelsea as i think they see them as more a threat, but I think Rooney would rather join a bigger club (Chelsea are not bigger than us), whats the point in him wanting out of one of the biggest clubs in the world if you aren't going to a Real or at least a PSG where he'll become a zillionaire.

Some real upsets in the Capital One Cup last night, my local side Morecambe knocking out Wolves, Stevenage beating Ipswich and Accrington beating Middlesborough are the pick for me also a great 5-1 win for Peterborough at Colchester. Wonder how many of those defeated sides put out strong teams? It is a shame nowadays but even teams outside the PL don't always take cups that serious.

So are Arsenal... Is it eight or nine years now ;D?

Arsenal won't win the League, neither will Spurs or Liverpool. Wake up and smell the coffée, Arsenal are top four fodder.

Top Four fodder is hardly an insult surely most teams would like to be that.

Arsenal's mistake in recent years has been not taking the cups more seriously, if they could win say the League Cup and still finish fourth then most fans would see that as a good season and hope that breaking that eight year duck will lead to greater success.

We battered Chelsea with our reserves in one final and lost to Birmingham in the 90th min in another, and don't forget getting mugged by the ref against Barca in the Champs Lg final.

Been unlucky a few times in teh cups.

Another hater, jealous that his club is a feeder group to Arsenal now...

You should open a fruit shop with all those bitter lemons and sour grapes...

Build the Suarez statue outside Anfield while you still have him, he kept you up singlehandedly last season.

I don't even like Suarez o_O... He's great for example for attacking moves but the guy is one of the worst role models going.

Yes yes because Liverpool were on the verge of relegation without Suarez, heaven forbid we were 12 points above 8th West Brom who had 50 points... WHATEVER WILL WE DO IN A RELEGATION DOG FIGHT!!!!

*runs around like the world is about to end*

Wouldn't be surprised to discover Cork is one of the pro trolls for Arsenal on the BBC forums :D.

Besides, Liverpool seemed to alright without Suarez. Rather see Sturridge score 30 goals this season, be good for England too >.>...

Forcing him to hand in the transfer request... Apparently if a club sells a player, they have to pay off their contract or a proportion of it but if a player hands in a transfer request all that is null and void.

Imo, Suarez should go up to Celtic... Champions League Football every year, a couple of trophies, suits him perfectly!
