You beat a team convicted of match fixing that year, coming from 3-0 down, to win the Champions League. If you consider that win legit you are more naive than I thought.

No Fergie, No Scholes, No Rooney, whos gonna jump off the sinking ship next?

My guess is that snake Van Persie. Man Utd in crisis hahahahahahahahahahaha

Like Scholes did any thing this past season anyway....

Classy post though, an Arsenal fan laughing at Manchester United's potential down fall.

Gotta lova Arsenal... shit club, shit fans.

Not massively against Arsenal, but you know there's a problem when your manager publicly says being top 4 is like winning a trophy. No, it fucking isn't.

I'm hoping Martinez takes the Everton job tbh. All the buzz is surrounding Malky so hopefully this will quieten the rumours.

The first half of the Europa final last night was ghastly bad. The second half picked up and I personally thought Chelsea had the better chances, if not the better side.

If Wigan have any chance of coming straight back up, they need to forget about Europe. Put kids out and focus on the league. Too many good championship sides these days.

Who knows what Martinez will do - stick with us and regain promotion, or move to a club with a greater potential to win the league and compete on Europe.

I agree on your statement about Europe, we must put all energy into the Championship, as you'll have a determined QPR and Reading wanting to return, plus Brighton & Hove, Leicester, whomever loses the playoff final, and then there's always others who can come good, such as Scum United, Middlesbrough and even Notts Forest.

Sure, it'll be great to see us actually travel around and extend the brand name, and play some clubs we'd never really get within a whisker of.

^ Doesn't higher goals scored secure the position? I'm sure that's how the table tiebreaker works.

Gutted to suffer a loss in the fashion that we did, but hey, it was a long shot especially at the Emirates against a team with a much richer prize at stake. The injuries to key positions killed us in the end, but the pain of relegation is softened by the delight of having that FA Cup in the cabinet, something Arsenal can't say they have :)

Martinez is quite possibly gone though, which is a shame as he's quite the manager and has worked wonders with the squad available to him. 8 extra games of football to watch for us next season and the drive to return to the promised land. If Martinez stays on, we're in with a big chance. If, as expected, he leaves, then it's still a good chance (Warnock is available) and can happen.

It sucks though as the final day of the season is really now just to see if Spurs or Arsenal get 4th place. I'd love for Spurs to get it, but Arsenal will demolish the toon and prevent it happening, signalling the end of Bale at WHL.

I think it is a great achivement winning the cup, and the fact you beat a side like City in the final and Everton along the way show that it is no fluke.

It is a massive blow going down, next season would have been a better time if any to go down. I don't think you can argue that staying in the league is less important than making the champions league. The main reason for the heavy defeat was because of all the effort you put in to win the cup, and Arsenal's extra rest.

Warnock would be a good choice to replace him.

Erm, yeah, because our fans form breakaway teams and boycott home games don't they?

I haven't forgot that 'FC United' garbage. People in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.

Yeah I thought he was off base with the fans remarks. The Arsenal fans have been great in recent years.

Was there any evidence of the match being fixed? We've seen other comebacks in the Champions League - Man Utd vs Bayern which is even less believable if you think about it. Hell, if I wanted to be proper Liverpool fan stuck in the retrospective past, just remember what we did in the 80s, yeah?

Don't see how you can call me naive or even presume it when you make constant naive comments across the forum and in this thread, like about how fans aren't "true" if they haven't been to a game.

Well on the basis of the way you two go at it Liverpool-Arsenal must be the new Tottenham-Arsenal!

Bayern weren't convicted of match fixing, AC Milan were deducted 8 points for fixing in the season you beat them in the final. Add that to you coming from 3-0 down and it looks dubious, no?

Hard luck Dortmund. That was a fantastic game of football, and a great advert for German football.

I thought Munich were the better team overall, although I still feel they should have had two men sent off. Ribery should have been given a straight red for his elbow in the first half and Dante a second yellow when he conceded that penalty. If either of those happened it would have been Dortmund's for the taking.

Any predictions on the Championship Play-Off final tomorrow?

I have a feeling for Palacem, for a couple of reasons one Holloway's experience over Zola's. Two because they just have those odd three or four players of extra class that could make a difference if its tight game.

Overall would peferr them to go up over Watford. 2-1 is my prediction.

Watford. Two strikers have scored 39 goals between them whilst Palace's top scorer is out injured.
