I see Man City as the threat of the season, don't see any other teams credible enough.

They could be the team that take Championships this year.

Well Cesc Fabregas has gone to Barcelona after a much stressed out time, Im guessing the guy wanted to go 2-3 years ago. Now Nasri is likely to leave considering hes on the last year of his contract and im guessing wenger will want some money for the guy.

Arsenal will win. I see AW spending some money now that Cesc is gone. Mertesacker, Dann and a couple of MFs who bed in early and we'll be great. Gervinho was good in the first but we lacked something in the opposition 3rd which again will be rectified as we play more games

yeah City are looking very strong. They'd be my 2nd picks for the title after the Gooners. Man United have bought unproven players and the goalkeeper will screw them over sooner rather than later. Chelsea is the same squad just a year older

Who in the hell are arsenal gonna win the premier league title with?! Fabregas gone, Nasri going, defence still as shocking as last season. They looked clueless against Newcastle.... I'm sorry but Arsenal are dropping out of the top four.

My table after seeing everyone so far. (bar Totts and Everton)

1. Man United
2. Man City
3. Chelsea
4. Liverpool
5. Arsenal
6. Tottenham
7. Everton
8. Stoke
9. Bolton
10. Sunderland
11. Newcastle
12. Wolves
13. Norwich
14. West Brom
15. Fulham
16. Wigan
17. Aston Villa
18. QPR
19. Blackburn
20. Swansea

I'm an Arsenal fan, and to be quite honest I agree that we will not win the Premier League. As much as it's wishful thinking to think we will, everything points towards we won't.

Although it's a big deal that Fabregas is gone, I have confidence that Ramsey and Wilshere can fill the void. Maybe not to the extent Fabregas could when he was fit, but they've proven during the Pre-season that they can work together very well. Combine them with Song and/or Frimpong (who has impressed and can fill Song's shoes just fine) and our Centre Midfield should be fine. I know that it's not of a high quality due to Ramsey being only 20 and Wilshere being 19, but they can get the job done. I think many jump the gun and shoot down our chances due to Fabregas and Nasri leaving, but I feel their departures only lower our chances a little bit.

Speaking of Nasri leaving, I feel as if his void can be filled easily. He only had one good season with us, just one, and now he thinks he deserves a massive salary and trophies. I truly hope he falls victim to Man City's massive squad and struggles to get game time, because only then will he realise what a big mistake he has made. We primarily used him on the left, but Gervinho has come into the squad and has impressed hugely, and I personally feel he'll have a great season. Obviously it hasn't gone to plan due to Joey Barton being an absolute fucking tool, but it's the very first game of the season. Gervinho will be in the thick of our attack for the entire season and Nasri's imminent departure won't be missed.

I'm a little worried about our defence. Wenger has too much faith in Squillaci and even Djourou for my liking, even the commentators seem to comment on Djourou and rate him higher than Koscielny last year in many matches. I think Vermaelen is easily our best Centre back, but Koscielny is definitely second, no doubt about it. We need to use the Fabregas and the Nasri money we will likely soon get to up our bid for Phil Jagielka and actually bid for Gary Cahill and/or Chris Samba. All three have proven themselves as consistent performers in the Premier League, so now that Wenger has even more money, he has no excuse not to spend big. He'll probably look for a replacement for Fabregas and/or Nasri, and I don't have a problem with that as long as he spends on his defence first.

I believe we can finish in the top 4, but at the moment the best we can hope for is 3rd as the two Manchester teams are leading the race at the beginning of the season. Our season likely relies on who Wenger brings in in the next 15 days, and hopefully none of them are "bargain buys" rather proven players that we know can hang with the best.

But it does depend if you buy, if you get that top class centre back you have needed for awhile, plus one or two more quailty mid-fielders or strikers, then I can see you being a strong threat to the title, I mean look at last year you weren't that far off. Also football works in funny ways sometimes, quite often when a team loses their best players they actually become a stronger team as a result, for example Everton were better as a team after Rooney left, and Arsenal actually didn't miss Henry at all. If you buy the right players (although I don't think one of them should be Dann he is too inexperienced) then you have a shot at the title, if not then you might struggle to stay in the top four, it is that simple.

It wasn't a great first weekend really, the best match would have to be West Brom VS. Man Utd. After the first thirty five minutes I was very impressed with West Brom, I think with the manager and some good signings they can have a good season, and certainly they were unlucky not to get a result on sunday. I guess it was classic Utd the way they graided out the win, mind you Young set up both goals, and he is in my dream team so I am happy LOL. The goalkeeper and defence has to be the champions main concern right now.

Just wanted to say thankyou to Man City winning 4-0 made what could have been a bad opening round PL betting into a fantastic round. Very impressive performance by them and that is the performance I expected from most of the big sides, domination of the smaller opponents to make a statement in week one.

Yeah, but surely it makes things more interesting if you get unpredictable results and close games.

It is more interesting it is just something I didn't expect at all. I am happy to see the other teams challenging the top four I just didn't think so many would be down on form this early.

I just watched the last thirty minutes of Arsenal vs. Liverpool. Unlucky for Arsenal with the first goal which was a deflection off their own player. Liverpool then sealed the 2-0 win through Suarez. Very surprising result again in my opinion as I hadn't expected Liverpool to pick up this much vs. Arsenal dropping off this much. What annoyed me watching that last half hour was the amount of dives. There were two massive dives where players got a bit of contact but then took huge leaps. One guy even did a front flip and it looks so pathetic. They make themselves look so soft by doing stuff like that and I wish the referees would card those players for diving.

Everton vs. QPR is up next. My prediction 2-0 to Everton. Hoping for Cahill to have a good game and I really hope that QPR actually show some spirit today.

Was so frustrating watching that match as an Arsenal fan!

We went in without Song, Gervinho, Djourou, Rosicky, Wilshere, Diaby, Gibbs and Traore so we had to play Sagna as a left-back.
We lost Koscielny to injury during the match, which meant we had to play 18 year old Miguel that has never played in the Premier League.
Later in the match we had Frimpong sent off, who was our best player probably alongside Vermaelen.
After we had used our 3 substitutions, Jenkinson struggled through the last 10-15 minutes with a slight injury.

As for the first goal, it was very unlucky and I hate that this crap has happened to us so often over the past year. The second goal was just worked well by Liverpool, but the absence of Song or Frimpong was clearly evident as Liverpool went forward.

If that isn't the odds stacked against you, I don't know what is.

Yeah Arsenal had no luck tonight, everything was going against them. It was bad watching Jenkinson in some serious pain at the end unable to come off the pitch when Arsenal were already a man down. I think it was for that red card, the second yellow, that the guy did a full flip after being touched on the shin. Was an impressive somersault but I am not sure how that fits into football and I wish they could wipe it out of the game.

Everton 0 - QPR 0 at the moment. Nothing major has happened yet.

Everton nearly scored from a free kick before. Baines took it and it bounced down off the cross bar but went back into play rather than across the line. Everton look in control at the moment.

GOALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!

QPR just scored for the first time in the Premier League for many many years. It is midnight here and I admit I jumped to my feet when they scored. Awesome seeing them get a goal and hopefully they can build from here and keep their lead.
