It would have been a nice thing for him to just do and come out with that minor change to the belt. Such build up for that was just so anti-climactic.

Apparently "because Miz drove Cena into the WWE logo on the ramp last week and then hit him with the SCF on the little logo that sits beneath it after Cena ripped it off and then flipped it this week" the WWE is going to change their logo very soon.

*I've just read the above in a ridiculously long and vomit-inducing forum elsewhere*

Honestly, I understand not debuting a brand new belt 2 weeks before Mania when you can do it the night after when you're competing with the NCAA Men's Basketball National Championship game. However, it would have been great for the whole "Miz HAS to retain the belt he just debuted" vs. "they NEED Cena to wear it because he's the face of the company and someone needs to brand it as meaningful" from the WWE Universe.

But this, I mean, they can easily write in (if Cena wins) a new belt debut where Cena says "Miz ruined the last belt, it really doesn't spin so we can't fix it"... or you have Miz go on about how it reminds him of Cena so he's trashing it for a new gem... one more reflective of change, and respect, and all that other heel shit.

Anyways, plays perfectly to Miz's "nobody before me matters and everyone after me will want to be me".

Also love how it builds for the small percentage of fans who keep up with Miz vs. Jericho on Twitter...

This belt has more than served its purpose and ran it's course. It was unique and custom fitted for the current face of the company, a signature title for the biggest star in the company. Edge even made it his own at own time with the spinning "Rated R" logo. The title just looks awful on most people who hold it. The only people it has looked decent on were Miz, Cena and Edge. The belt should have been the Smoking Skull title of our generation with it only being brought out when Cena held it. It was instead thrust upon every other champion since. Could you picture Undertaker holding the Smoking Skull title? The Rock? Triple H? Wouldn't have worked.
I suppose the subtly of Miz being such an asshole that he makes an entire presentation of flipping a logo upside down is good stuff in itself. Aside from that though it really is time for a change... a new generation, new stars... time for a new belt.
If you change the WHC I will kill you though. That belt is awesome.

^Agreed on the WHC belt... that's the sexiest strap in the business imo.

I still see it more as Miz did exactly what he was supposed to do as a heel last night though... disrespect everything Cena represents, even if you represent it yourself. Out with the old kinda thing.

I agree on the WWE 'ship too, it's looked horrid on everyone but a select few. It suits Miz because he's modern enough and the reality TV shit fits. Triple H should have a title like the WHC. He's too hardcore metal to pull off a bling'ed out hip-hop style title. Granted, I don't necessarily hate the bling, I just dislike it on this belt, especially the spinner style of it. The diamond-encrusted outline isn't that horrid though, but I think they need another big gold belt, something that does differ from the WHC a bit, but definitely something similar enough to present itself as a prized trophy for all who seek it.

Holy fuck, Randy's 'wife' was awful!! That acting was just as bad as the time Triple H broke into his house. Fuck....

I thought Raw sucked.....Miz turning the belt upside down is fucking lame.

Oh yeah, I totally came when Alex showed up, hell yeah!

Quality video segments for HHH/Taker, but otherwise nothing to get excited about this week.

Not liking the way Sheamus/Bryan is unfolding.... A REMATCH (of a match that was just kinda thrown out there to start with) at Mania? Would be much better if Bryan had his rematch NEXT week and won it, thus creating a rubber match situation for their Mania match. Frustrating, when you think about how much the titles get hot-shotted about all over the place, that they can't bring can't bring themselves to do a quick title back n' forth in order to actually elevate a 'fued'(***).

(***Not that you could truthfully call Sheamus/Bryan a "fued" yet.)
