I just watched Rhodes Family vs. The Shield back at Battleground 2013 and it is one of the best tag matches I've ever seen. The in-ring action is on-par with some of the SmackDown Six stuff, but the storyline, the crowd, the drama and excitement was unreal. Dusty got one last moment with his boys and got a great pop. That was really the very peak of the whole Tag revitalization, up till that point. It sucks that WWE only capitalized on that popularity for barely a few months. That could've been a great breakout moment for Cody and a real push for Goldust's midcard career. I remember being really into their tag team, but I found it kind of sweet and sour when they lost the titles to The New Age Outlaws. On one hand it led to a great comeback tour for one of my favorite tag teams, and the eventual push for The Usos, but it let the Rhodes get lost in the shuffle. They got the biggest pop at Battleground and were well and over through-out the rest of the year, but didn't even get a notable match at WrestleMania 30.

In my opinion, the whole storyline should've built up to WrestleMania. The firing should've happened and after the regular situation, they should keep Rhodes and Goldust off TV until January. They could keep referencing and mocking Dusty, Cody and Goldust. Keeping the fans aware of them. They could have Cody and Goldust make media appearances out of character to make it seem as if they're completely unemployed. When they return they come back as an attack on the Shield. The Shield should still be champions at this time, while The New Age Outlaws and The Usos are feuding amongst themselves anywho. While this is happening, The Shield would be, being abused by the Authority as what happened in real life. The rest of the situation plays out and ends in a tag team match at WrestleMania, and it would've been that much better.

Adam Rose started selling t-shirts with his mugshot on them via Pro Wrestling Tees. But since the shirt has gotten a lot of criticism, Pro Wrestling Tees pulled it. :lol1:

Also, apparently EY's NXT appearance wasn't a one-off. So, that is nice.

Man I just want to do an in-general rant...
There's problems, sure. But... AJ Styles is killing it and doing great on the main roster. The Wyatts are back and feel refreshed as they fight the New Day. THE SHIELD TRIPLE THREAT.
20+ minute matches on Raw being an expectation. Promos made for their actual fanbase (I don't necessarily like but most do). The developmental system isn't about models but BIG into indy talents.
Sheamus is completely de-emphasized and Del Rio is on the way, while we watch Kevin Steen and El Generico brawl on TV while Jon Moxley runs around with championships and all the "big dudes" get fed to Cena

There's a whole lot of positives going on right now. Lots to be happy with from the outside looking in...

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Oh hell no... well I'm happy that they signed him in theory but just seeing that dude again made me flip the damn table. Go away Eric Young. Can we please be spared from seeing your face ever again?

Eric Young is an amazing talent, and can play just about any character given to him. He has a genuine likability, but can be a heel too. When he was Eugene 2.0 in TNA, I actually liked him better than Eugene himself, but when he became the Canadian guy I still loved him.

Why don't you like him?

Booking. Dude's the ultimate fuel for TNA haters. I'm shocked he's not Stopspot's favorite guy to bring up.

Posted when he left that WWE should add him as a trainer, but... In the time I've watched TNA, I saw him hang out with the NWO and get predictably turned on by Nash, then later on that year he fell off a ring apron on his head and suffered a massive kayfabe concussion and left him for 2 years doing nothing but doing the worst, dumbest, most unfunny shit. I've got a pretty high comedy tolerance but this guy... Watching him as a flower girl at the Jarrett's wedding, watching him pin Scott Baio in the front yard, anything with Robbie E and the Jersey Shore idiots, the shitty TV Title reigns and then teaming with ODB and becoming the Women's Tag Team Champions forever, and... Ugggghhhh any time EY was around it was a sign of bad TV and being the mad scientist wondering where Abyss went to which lead to him winning the World Title - pretty sure that was the last moment that anybody ever took TNA seriously as even an indy promotion, that did more damage to one company (although not because of Eric Young since then he just got to wrestle and showed he was actually really good and worked miracles turning that pile of chicken shit into as much chicken salad as he could), then the 2015 meltdowns and now he's out there ranting like a maniac and coming across like the lamest hardcore guy with legit head trauma and... Just shut up and go away. I just never want to see this guy again.

If you want to argue he's a good worker, go right ahead. Dude could go on the 3 times he got the opportunity. Maybe he's like a poor man's Cody Rhodes that did the best with everything he did and just got unsalvagable stuff - no kidding on that - but all these years of watching TNA has given me the urge to vomit whenever he's on my TV

To an extent I agree with this. When they did the DBry copy of him winning the title, it was irksome. And i tended to switch away anytime he was on the stage. His matches were good but yeah. Booking matters.

I gained more respect for Young, after all these phases. I saw him go from TNA's Eugene, to an evil Canadian in a matter of a week. I thought it was really silly and a lame way to give Young a more serious gimmick, but he made it work and he made me believe that he was straight up evil. Then through all this he had the Women's tag title run, and was a midcard joke for most of the TNA boom period from 2010-2013, but his run and subsequent defenses with the TNA World title made it all worth. His run was the perfect example of how a transitional champion and vet reign should go. He was a fighting champion, and it added to his gimmick. He was the silly boy who finally made it, and defended it against the odds until finally losing to a legit MMA professional, in Bobby Lashley. It elevated his run, and his career. He was no longer the goober, but was a serious contender.

My point of that long story is that all of this worked out into a broader story that was built-up to his heel turn last year. All of the pressures from being a mentally Blue goober, to an evil canadian to a silly goober to a hard working champion to just another guy led to the explosion. It was the blow off to a career filled with trying to find a niche. It was the end of a decades worth of trying to find his right space. So, in theory, his booking was perfectly fine. His booking is a great story, when you really take into account what this evolution has led to. And it led to some great things, because he's likely going to sign with a company that he probably always dreamed of signing with.
