Over the Royal Rumble weekend I watched my 1st NXT Main event. At least one that was up to date. I had seen Takeover"Brooklyn 1 and 2 and 1 recent epsidoe of NXT where Asuka wanted "all of them".
Overall I think I like it better than the Royal Rumble which was a little bit above average.
Heading in I knew virtually nothing about the Wrestlers. I enjoyed the entire card and some props.
1. The setting. Not quite old school but not the over the top Smackdown/RAW lightshows. Slight AE era vibe.
2. The crowd. These NXT fans are quite vocal.
3. The theme songs, overall I like them but the SAnitY and Authors of Pain music stood out.
4. Costumes. Mostly AoP and SAnitY. Slight Demolition vibe form AoP.
5. I liked 5 mathces in particular- the Womens match, Shinsuke/Booby Roode match, SAnity, AoP one and the Tye Dillinger one.
6. The flow of the event. Not as long, less bullshit and ads to filter through.
Overall I liked it a lot maybe not as much as the UK tourney which is a toss up between that and the Survivor Series for best PPV type event.
Much like the UK event I found it easy to get into knowing virtually nothing about the wrestlers or plot lines.
Triple HHH might be a bit to good at this booking thing.
