Okay just finished AEW Dynamite and NXT this Week and damn I'm wiped out hard right now. NXT had one of the best Shows for them this Year setting up so much great shit going forward which is another Takeover in November I imagine right? Man is the Women's Division in NXT really heating up these days as Belair vs Ripley had a heck of a Match with each other. Neither lady dominated for too long, but Rhea gets the win and bumps over Bianca as a lady who could be next in line to face Shayna for the NXT Women's Title. I don't get Candice LaRae getting involved in Io's business with Rhea though. She beat you clean girl...he if anything you want the Heel to start up the feud again and honestly it felt weird seeing that, considering they have done nothing towards each other to further the feud since the Takeover Classic they had with each other.
Riddle vs Grimes had my emotions up and down like a Roller Coaster. I was like hell yes this Match fucking rules between the two checking the boxes of the needs I love to see in Wrestling, but on the other hand I was like what is Grimes getting this right now? He's had maybe 10 Matches total if you count the Breakout Tourney, and his Matches on NXT were snoozefests, yet you give him this with Riddle and he's kicking out of Riddle stuff as if he's someone with a shit ton of momentum. He has no Character, a lack of Charisma at times which is why I felt in Impact he was hard to watch at times even with those skills in the Ring. I feel he needs to change himself up, or this might be the only highlight he ever has with Riddle. I do like Bate getting involved too, more of the Big Strong Boi on NXT yes please!
Isaiah Scott and Breezango vs. The Forgotten Sons. Even though I'm not a fan of The Forgotten Sons, they worked really well with Breezango and Scott in this one. Scott picks up the good win for the team, giving us that hell of a Dive off of Ryker just amazing. Garza vs Gallagher man I need some of that Matchup in my Veins I dug it hard. High Flyer vs Technical Bruiser messed well together and Garza got a good win lining himself to face Lio for the NXT CW Title down the line as well. You feel for Gallagher though he's been a staple for the Division, and Angel was getting all the love in this one poor guy.
Team Kick vs Shayna's Goons. Quick and to the point with this one. I remember Nox and Kai wanting to face Kairi and Io for the Tag Titles when they announced to have them now we sorta have our wish. I can't wait to see Kairi and Asuka return and how the NXT Crowd handles them because they love Nox and Kai, and I'm hoping next week we see a new Kairi and Asuka with new gear and a new look.
Strong vs. Keith Lee vs. Dominik Dijakovic. I don't know if words can describe how great this Main Event was for NXT. The way it was mapped out was so perfectly done as Strong early on was picking his spots and letting Lee and Dijakovic beat each other up. Later once Lee and Dijakovic were right for the picking, Strong would get in more of his Offense, while also taking his own licks during the Match. Lee and Dijakovic man those two together are magical and it was no shock to see Strong come and get a victory like he got it, he made sense from the get go bravo fellas.
Now to Balor turning Heel this Week. Man it was great I honestly thought were could of seen Balor in Wargames, but damn we got a Heel turn at the right moment this Week. For sure you wanted to build on that Turn, but they have plenty of time to build up two of the most beloved NXT Wrestlers against each other. Balor I'm really looking forward to what he says because I have a feeling it will be about how the fans forgot about him quickly and moved on to other people etc. Still Wargames with Lee and Dijakovic together, with Dream I imagine to go with Ciampa is going to be insane vs Undisputed Era!
