This thread stems off a discussion I had with Allen1995 recently regarding which show should continue running on our screens and which show should be thrown off the TV schedule. Allen claimed NXT for the talented young wrestlers who compete for a chance to be the next breakout star in WWE. I suggested Superstars is better than NXT as SS always promises a good main event and isn't filled with green wrestlers.

Obviously, The shows are completely different but which is your favourite out of the two? Generally, The stars that appear on NXT are not up to the standard of being a WWE superstar, Whereas the wrestlers who appear on Superstars are those who are aren't featured on Raw/Smackdown (Lower mid-cards) and they always promise a great main event.

I still say that Superstars is better than NXT. Superstars recently has had Chris Masters vs. Jack Swagger, Chris Masters vs. Drew McIntyre and Kofi Kingston. Chris Masters is a true star (As evidenced by his matches on SS recently and his match on SD) but his lack of charisma and his lack of being able to tell a story put him on Superstars. In a way, It's good that he's on SS as he still puts on great matches which don't neccesserily have a storyline behind it. Take Swagger/McIntyre, Just two wrestlers fighting for the joy of victory. During the contest, Masters hurt his ankle (In kayfabe) which eventually would be his downfall as he lost to McIntyre. I wish all matches were like that.

As for NXT, I still think it's a good show which features potentially good wrestlers. But, The only good wrestlers that have come out of the show is Wade Barrett, Skip Sheffield, Justin Gabriel, Heath Slater, Kaval, Alex Riley and Husky Harris. Percy Watson and Lucky Cannon show potential and in the future, they could be used on the WWE shows.

Anyway, Which show do you prefer to watch: WWE NXT Or WWE Superstars?

^ Explain please.

I would go for NXT Tbh but the wrestling isn't on as higher standard as it is on Superstars. I mean, Look at the McGillicutty/Kaval/Riley match on NXT last week: It was a horrible botchfilled contest. McGillicutty didn't know what he was doing. Fast forward two days onto Superstars and the show is headlined by Kofi Kingston vs. Chavo Guerrero which was a better contest in every single way.

For me its more than just about the pure match-ups. Its about entertainment. I just find seeing people like Riley, McGillicutty, Harris, Kaval, Daniels, Barrett, etc. on NXT more entertaining than someone who we've seen lose a thousand times like Masters or Chavo lose to Kingston or McIntyre who we see on SD everyweek. I guess its probably because i've seen more of the people on SS and you only see the new young guys on NXT once a week, and they've only been on there a few weeks. People like Chavo and Masters are always losing matches on SD and SS...

^ So? It doesn't matter how many times a wrestler loses, it's down to the quality of that wrestler. Masters is an amazing star who needs to be pushed but he isn't which is a travesty. Masters/McIntyre was far better than anything I've seen on NXT season 2 & Season 1.

I like Superstars because there's no bullshit, no lameass skits. Just get out there and put on a show for fans of the in-ring wrestling. NXT just has that corny reality show vibe that I'm not into.

@Alex C i know what you mean, i really liked 1 and 2 but 3 doesn't look interesting, they could always surprise us though.

@FRB some people aren't into the Reality Show thing, i am which is maybe why i prefer NXT to SS.

@John i prefer seeing new guys who bring something we haven't been seeing to the table instead of Master and Chavo who i've seen wrestle a thousand times. They have Masters use the same old master lock to try and win and its really tiring. It just feels like on SS you know how most of those stars are going to end up if its not already too late for them to go somewhere, and on NXT, some of the guys are really talented and you have no idea whether or not they could be the next biggest star everybodies looking for.

Superstars... NXT sucks.

Just a shame that stuff featured on Superstars isn't pre-announced on their respective shows as there's sometimes some nice matches going on. Too much jobber and Bella Twins action to tune in week after week but I just can't watch NXT - It's horrible.

^ I suggest adding a belt to SS and making it a brand. I wouldn't have SS-Exclusive wrestlers but I would move it to tuesdays, make it live and have Raw & Smackdown wrestlers there.

I agree on the NXT reality feel. Tough Enough was far better than NXT. The problem is that Vince doesn't want to reveal any secrets, which is hard to do on a show thats training rookies.

From the time Superstars was brought back I loved it. Like a few people have said, you get some solid straight no gimmick matches and guys like Chavo and Masters, who rarely, if ever get any time on Smackdown or RAW get to perform in front of a TV audience, albeit a small one. I don't watch it all the time (mainly because I forget at times lol) but when I do you get a great show, hell if I had to pick NXT or Superstars to see live it would be Superstars easily.

I like NXT and all, it's a good concept, but alot of the stupid skits and constant bickering among the pros just makes it feel like less of a wrestling show and more a cheap reality show that's scripted. You do at times get decent to good matches on NXT, but more often then not you get sloppy matches with some people who will never be in the WWE anyway. I would much rather watch JTG vs Chavo over Eli Cottonwood vs Percy Watson ANYDAY of the week... Twice on Sundays.

Terrible idea.

Ummmm.... Which show's stars have they been showcasing until now then?

The problem is that Vince doesn't want to reveal any secrets, which is hard to do on a show thats training rookies.

The same Vince that came out publicly and said that wrestling is 'fake'? ...Christ, where do you get this crap from and, more poigniently, how the hell do you come to buy into it all? :sigh:

Talking of Superstars, I think I may give it a bit of a look in again as i guess it kinda fills the void for a no bullshit wrestling show created by ECW going off the air.

 @ JoMo!
