Two hungry, hard-hitting skyscrapers took center stage when Drake Morreaux and Harlem Lewis clashed in a ring-ratting donnybrook. Each Superstar went to the power game early and often, and Lewis dealt the first big blow when he hammered the downed Morreaux with a merciless boot to the chin. Backed into the corner by his relentless opponent, Morreaux dug deep to hit a chokeslam from the middle rope and soared from the top turnbuckle with a decisive splash.
Tyra Mae Steele & Layla Diggs def. Lainey Reid & Kali Armstrong
Prior to what was certain to be a spirited tag bout, Tyra Mae Steele and Layla Diggs had already established a bond due to the former saving the latter from a post-match beatdown courtesy of Lainey Reid recently on NXT Level Up. The same cannot be said for their opponents after Armstrong openly admitted that she’s not interested in being friends with Reid, though that didn’t stop the makeshift duo from isolating Steele and overwhelming her with several impressive tandem moves. Reid, however, eventually got a much-needed tag and wrecked each of her opponents with strikes, suplexes and a spinning heel kick. Moments later, Diggs rallied after a powerslam from Armstrong and leveled her with a scissor kick for the victory.
Uriah Connors & Kale Dixon def. Dion Lennox & Cutler James
Now that they’ve picked up their first win as a duo, Uriah Connors and Kale Dixon aren’t likely to let the WWE Universe hear the end of it. Despite being outmuscled by Dion Lennox and Cutler James for large portions of the match, Connors and Dixon resorted to trapping Lennox in their corner while dancing and obnoxiously jeering the NXT Universe. Connors and Dixon seemed to be in dire straits when James tattooed them with a double clothesline, but Connors blasted James with an enzuigiri from the ring apron to set up Dixon to steal the win with a rollup and a handful of tights, setting off a celebration of epic proportions.
Jasper Troy doesn’t often find himself at a height and weight disadvantage, though that was indeed the case when he hit the ring for a titanic clash with the menacing Jasper Troy. Each competitor stuck with what brought them to the dance, employing a hard-hitting power game that included Lennox going sky high for a dropkick to the face and Troy shaking the ring by dropping his opponent with a sidewalk slam. At a critical juncture, Lennox showcased his quickness by dodging the hard-charging Troy, who crashed shoulder-first into the ring post. Seconds later, Lennox landed a modified Jackhammer for the three-count.
Lainey Reid def. Layla Diggs
Sparked by Lainey Reid cheating her way to a victory over Layla Diggs by using the ropes for leverage in October, Layla Diggs came out swinging for her main event bout against her newfound rival. Diggs, who holds a tag team win over Reid and Kali Armstrong alongside Tyra Mae Steele, shook off Reid’s early onslaught by overwhelming her foe with a powerslam and a standing moonsault for a two-count. After the official caught her once again holding the ropes for leverage during a pin attempt, Reid threw a chop block to Diggs and followed up with a menacing and decisive knee strike.
Wendy Choo def. Dani Palmer via Submission
If Dani Palmer was at all unnerved by her demonic opponent, the acrobatic Superstar didn’t show it. Palmer fearlessly stared into Wendy Choo’s vacant eyes, out-grappled her in the early goings, and landed several strikes, only for Choo to stick out her tongue and flash a creepy smile. Choo eventually got going by catching Palmer in the tree of woe and landing an elbow drop, though Palmer unloaded with several clotheslines and double knees to the back. Moments later, however, The Sleepy Psycho countered her opponent’s standing moonsault by raising her knees and forced her to tap out to a chicken wing variation.
Niko Vance def. Oro Mens
Taking orders from Shawn Spears paid dividends for Niko Vance in the form of her first career victory. With Spears and Brooks Jensen feeding him encouragement on his way to the ring, Vance relied on his power game from the opening bell to brutalize Oro Mensah with vicious right hands to the jaw and shoulders to the midsection. Mensah found his game by landing an eye-opening springboard moonsault from the second rope and an overhead suplex for a two-count, but Vance clocked Mensah with a clothesline from the apron and executed a diving headbutt from the top rope to clinch the win.
Doing nothing to hide his utter disdain for his rookie opponent prior to the opening bell, Joe Coffey received a rude awakening from a fired-up Keanu Carver, who immediately pancaked him with a shoulder block. Back from a debilitating injury that kept him out of action for four-and-a-half months, Carver unleashed his aggression on his veteran opponent, nearly driving him through the canvas with a ring-shaking fallaway slam. Ever the resourceful veteran, Coffey countered the hard-charging Carver with a boot to the chin and followed up with a Glasgow Sendoff and All the Best for the Bells to seal the win.
Lainey Reid def. Kendal Grey
After sneering at Kendal Grey from the moment her opponent bounded to the ring, Lainey Reid spent the majority of the match talking trash and landed a series of menacing chops before mockingly asking Grey if she was okay. Grey struck back with a picture-perfect northern lights suplex and an overhead suplex, but Reid flung her opponent throat-first into the bottom rope and landed a vicious knee strike for the three-count. Reid continued her attack after the match, resulting in a six-Superstar brawl that pitted Grey, Carlee Bright and Layla Diggs against Reid, Kali Armstrong and Wendy Choo. After a flurry of high-impact moves from all six Superstars, the former trio chucked their foes from the ring and stood tall as NXT Level Up concluded.
