NWA reality show to air on The CW network

The next step in the relationship between the NWA and The CW will soon be taken with a rumored reality show set to truly become a reality.

In a Thursday podcast appearance, NWA announcer Joe Galli revealed that the aforementioned reality show will air on The CW network as opposed to The CW streaming service where new episodes of NWA Power will begin to air in February.

"I will let you know that our secondary show, which I think a lot of podcasts and people have already talked about which is basically a reality show...is going to be CW on their traditional network," he said, later adding "that will be really interesting to help tie people in and that’s more of a decision from CW to try to get people to migrate over to the app."

No start date, nor the number of episodes, was indicated.

Based on past reports, it's assumed to be a reality series based on the life of NWA owner and Smashing Pumpkins founder Billy Corgan which will include a focus on his recent wedding. It's unknown how much of a presence the NWA will have on the show.

Neither the NWA nor The CW have formally announced a relationship between both parties which was reported to have frayed and cost NWA Power a spot on The CW network due to a cocaine skit/stunt during an October pay-per-view.

Eight older episodes of Power went up on The CW streaming application last year with an announcement last week that new weekly episodes were coming in February.

Galli also intimated that their 76th Anniversary pay-per-view would emanate from an East Coast-based city vs. St. Louis, Missouri, where the last few have taken place.

Someone really needs to make an official statement about what’s going on with the NWA and the CW because the NWA just aired their season finale for power and the promotion for that event was all about the end of an era and celebrating the previous episodes and what not and then when you look at the advertisement for that paranoia show that supposed to be debuting soon and that is going to air on CW, the promotion all makes it sound like that’s to kickstart the new era of NWA on The CW. So it sounded to me like power is supposed to debut on The CW proper soon.

There were talks of the NWA having a reality show debut on the CW months ago. Around the time they did the cocaine spot.

They were talking about moving Power over there back then if I remember correctly but that stunt and NXT moving to the network this fall seemed to put that to bed

I don’t know if this is true anymore.

This is the NWA‘s tweet about the season finale that just aired on YouTube. It directly talks about the previous era and the move to The CW.

Yeah so nobody should be surprised. I think this was discussed in Sept/October

I don’t Power was ever in play for the CW

Nobody was surprised about the reality show to be honest, I thought it was supposed to be about the actual company and not the dude who runs it with his wedding.

I don't think there was ever an official announcement for anything. Just Galli mentioning stuff like this or Corgan saying the TV deal was coming. The old episodes literally just appeared without notice on the app too

That’s not a great move at all. I certainly hope CW is paying them money for exclusivity because the app that they provide will have a significantly lower audience potential than just airing directly from YouTube.
