The extra money they are talking about is generated from additional ad time during Raw, not anything to do with sales.

What I meant is that even if they extended it into 5 hours but no one watches it, ultimately the TV contracts will be up and they would not be renewed. Extending it up to three hours will just give them quick money, but if they want a steady flow of money, they should focus themselves on quality. If they get more viewers, eventually, more lucrative contracts will be given to them, plus they'll have bigger sales.

They can charge more ad revenue from a more highly watched show, but instead they'd rather stretch out the show to get more ad space.
Wonder how much they would have to improve the ratings of a 2 hour show to (financially) getting rid of the third hour, because the third hour suuuuuucccccckkkkkkkssssss

They also get a couple of grand (around 50k) if I remember correctly from USA for every extra hour.

As long as they book it more like they have recently and cut some of the recaps its fine. Plus with the Wyatt family coming soon i cant see them struggling for stuff to fill 3 hours.

Doesn't matter how long it is for me. I only pay attention to wrestlers I like or I'm curious about. If there's a squash match or some bullshit match like Tons O' Funk vs. 3MB, I either just talk to people in live discussion or gets some food and not pay attention at all. I stream it most of the time anyway because west coast Comcast gets WWE way later, so its not "LIVE" anymore even though they say it is, so its not like I'm giving them views. The way I see it, there always has to be those bullshit matches/feuds you don't give a single fuck about, but if the show is longer, that match will be pretty miniscule compared to the rest of the lineup. If the show is shorter, there's more attention on that shitty match.

Also, I do tend to get distracted easily, so less recaps will definitely help me focus more. I mean, I get showing recaps for the purpose of new viewers so they have at least a sense of what's going on, but they could at least take off those recaps that happen right after the fucking match ends. Like we didn't just fucking saw it happen. Anyway, those are my two cents.

Yea, that's the main issue. It is USA that really eats up the third hour, so WWE just goes along with it.

3 hours is just too much, not many people have that kindof time to take three hours out of their day.

Sure they do. The question is do they have the desire to do so.

I agree with Dolph. Even if we get a 10/10 show each week, I always want to stop watching at some point. You can't just sit there for three hours with advertisements and constantly be entertained. It's the same with three hour movies, unless they're exceptional (Like LOTR).

Exactly. No matter how good the show is, and no matter if I'm watching live or the next day (especially live) there is ALWAYS the point where I think to myself "Fuck, how much longer"

^This. Even watching a good Raw later with the ability to fast forward + no adverts feels like a chore.

Going through Smackdown with a friend was so refreshing this weekend and was stunned, felt like it blew by with the 2 hours. Of course it's Smackdown and you expect only 2-3 good segments anyway, but sometimes wonder why we don't just watch it since they'll recap the 2-3 good segments we usually get on Raw anyway without it dragging on forever.
