Undertaker is a big money maker, so it's understandable as to why they would buy it for him. Punk, well they gave him a 434 day reign, and I'm sure he probally pushed them hard for it since he was nearly off of his contract. They favor him to some extent since he can also talk about negatives in the company and not get punished. As for Kid Rock, who used his song?
Taker,

Same situation as before then. Undertaker was over with the crowd completely(whether heel or face), and a loyal worker. He wasn't exactly a huge draw, but he was still a very big name in the WWE back then, and even bigger now. It's possible he even pushed it to make the whole badass American over.

True, I think after showing some of his indie stuff and even using a old catch phrase of his, the only thing that is missing is the Final Countdown. I personally don't mind which theme song he uses, but I will admit it would be awesome to see him use the Final Countdown one last time at Hell in a Cell if anytime he is going to use it.

Those bands are not popular, less than Killswitch Engage even. As for Flair, it's Ric Flair. One of the biggest names in wrestling history throughout any company, it's no surprise at all that a theme like that, even if it was pricey, would be for Flair.

Fuck no to the Final countdown. It was cool on the indys since the indys are the indys, but the song isn't fit to be a wrestling theme. Just like the Youngbucks with Mmmbop Bryan somehow made it work on the indys but a key factor in a wrestling theme is that it has to be synonymous with your character/act. Final Countdown doesn't fit anymore.

Why? Because it was his song in ring of honor? I'm as big of an indy fan as the next guy but shouldn't Bryan evolve instead of devolve? A new theme song all together would be much better in my opinion. The Final countdown doesn't fit.

As much as he's over now, I believe that if he used his American Dragon gimmick he'd get over even more. Look at punk, he's greatest work IMO was when he was the straight edge messiah, pretty much his exact gimmick in the indies. Part of that American Dragon gimmick was that theme and the way the crowd embraced it. I have no doubt the smarks in the crowd would make the casuals join in as well.
