Match quality was fine. Wrong guy won n I think its upsetting people, which I get. Njpw passing the torch challenge : impossible

Hard disagree. Fans relationship with Shota is tenuous at best. He hasn’t fully connected and many view him as not having earned his spot yet. Putting the belt on him would damage him. And you cant turn him heel because he is feuding with heel Moxley in the macro…and he doesn’t have the charisma to do it anyway. They needed him to lose a match where people wanted him to win. Now hope an eventual showdown with Moxley gets him over for real.

Shota story is fine I can see where they are going, even if the match was not the spectactle of other years it's setting him up for a long arc which is a good thing.

used to be a big fan but he been mailing it in for a bit too long. I do think this match was "fine" and was not nearly as bad as some online folks made it out to be. But it was certainly uninspired and he had no business winning. Let Hiromu move on to HW and lead LiJ. Naito should be their Sting
